As it was my birthday recently, a friend of mine had thoughtfully got me a gift containing several items from the 'Avon Naturals' range of cosmetics. One of the items was a "room and linen spray", with a Lavender and Camomile fragrance.

I will point out early on in this review that I am not the world's biggest fans of smelly sprays, and probably never will be. I have used several of these 'Room and Linen' sprays from the Avon naturals range in the past and have never been even slightly impressed! (Review available on dooyoo for a banana-scented offering!... bleugh!)

It was with some trepidation therefore, that I opted to try out the spray yesterday! I am a fan of all things lavender however (hence why my lovely friend bought me said spray), although as I look at it now, I am left wondering if perhaps she was trying to drop me a subtle hint? Do the rooms in my house smell and is she politely trying to offer me a way of covering up said smells? :-\ I'm sure that's not the case lol... **crosses fingers**!

Anyway, the room and linen spray is supplied in a clear bottle so you can see the spray quite easily through the packaging. Handy I suppose if you are a fan of this product and want to know when you are running out and need to re-order it from your trusty Avon Rep! That said though, a bottle of this would probably keep you going for a fair amount of time as it is 125ml in size, which I feel is reasonably generous.

The bottle in the picture on the Dooyoo page looks to be lilac-coloured, either that or the liquid within it is lilac-coloured! I think that may be the older style packaging or something because the most recent Avon brochure definitely shows this product as being clear-coloured and it is definitely in a clear bottle.

Like I said at the start of this review, I got this spray as a gift, but as I work as an Avon representative I can tell you that the normal price of this spray is usually £3.50.

It may be worth noting however, that the "Avon Naturals" range of products is one range that tends to be on offer a lot of the time within the Avon brochures so it is definitely worth keeping an eye out for special bargains. One such offer that springs to mind is "Any four products for £5" which was in a recent campaign. A fantastic opportunity to stock up on these products if you are a fan! (I generally am!!) :-D The Avon Naturals range has many different items in the range, such as shampoos, shower gels and body lotions, so there's plenty of choice for individual tastes.

The bottle has a 'pump spray' so that you can quite easily squirt the liquid on your chosen linen or in a room of your choice. The picture on the label is of some lovely lavender plants which compliments the lilac and purple on the label perfectly. The overall first impression of the product is that of one which is of a fairly high quality and I am impressed with the overall look of the bottle and packaging.

On to the whiff of it then... (!)

Ok, so this is the part of the review where I am supposed to describe to you what the spray smells of and if it is pleasant or not. The answer to the latter part of that statement is most definitely NOT. Bleugh! It is a scent that can only be described as 'sickly' and dare I say it, a bit flowery!

Before any of you lovely dooyooers point out politely that Lavender is a flower, I know this already, but can honestly say that the spray is not scented with this scent until the very end, when I can detect a nice enough, albeit subtle whiff of lavender but by then dear dooyooers, the damage is well and truly done.

The first detections of this room spray are flowery, sweet and over-powering. It reminds me of that powdery stuff I used to buy years ago to sprinkle over the cat's litter tray! Eugh!

Rather unfortunately for me, I opted to try this spray out last night after my partner had changed the bedclothes. As the product stated that it was a 'room & linen spray', I opted to spray this over the bedclothes and pillowcases. Oops, big mistake. This meant that of course, the pillows smelt flowery and sickly.

A possible plus point of this product therefore (assuming that you actually LIKE the smell, unlike me) is that it has definite staying-power when sprayed on linens. The smell can still be detected from the pillows and our bed sheets this morning.

The spray is available to buy from www.avonshop.co.uk or directly from your Avon Representative. I'd personally suggest that you give it a miss though! The product smells very cheap and nasty, which surprises me as I think £3.50 is quite a lot to pay for a spray like this.

I would most definitely NOT recommend this product as the smell is just so off-putting and artificial. Sorry Avon, only one star from me!

Summary: WOULDN'T BUY THIS, NOR COULD I RECOMMEND IT..!
