Avon Naturals Vanilla & Soy Milk Linen and Room Spray
If you have read a few of my reviews before, you will know that I sometimes buy Avon Products and that I enjoy trying new things. This was a random purchase to make up a really good deal, as it was one of the few room sprays I had not tried.
When I first saw this particular fragrance in the Avon catalogue I was sceptical as I use vanilla quite a lot in cooking and it has such a subtle fragrance and I could not imagine what Soy Milk would smell like. Indeed, I did not want a spray like some of the Vanilla car air freshners that are sickly sweet and fake. However, being familiar with and a bit of a fan of the range I was also expecting something more natural and wholesome than the sort of products that the supermarkets sell. I mostly use Avon's Lavender and Chamomile and Black Cherry versions, which are both strong long lasting fragrances. The Naturals range from Avon unlike other air fresheners has a pump action trigger which handily releases a set amount of fragrance spray into the room and one pump is surprisingly effective in an average sized room. I tend to use two if I feel I need the spray, one to the left and one the right and soon after as the smell matures it also strengthens. The fragrance is definitely sweet, soft and pleasingly Vanilla edged.
I tried one of these in the bathroom near the toilet where I usually use the Black Cherry version. I noticed that the soft, fragrance is lovely but not enough to cope with some of the "man" smells, so I moved it to the living area and found it lovely to spray as it was just enough to leave a really nice soft freshness in the room. However, it is as a linen spray that this particular product comes into its own. As a linen spray it is highly effective, I spray the Vanilla and Soy Milk spray onto cushions and sofa covers to freshen up and it is wonderful to spray onto lampshades, so that the warmth grows and spreads the fragrance when the light is put on.
This is a lovely soft fragrance and it would suit anyone who likes a natural smelling uncomplicated fragrance in their home. It is especially useful as a linen spray.
I suffer from Allergies to some sprays - asthma - This does not cause any adverse reaction.
The spray container has the usual icons on the back that in this case inform that the product is good for 12 months from opening and that the pot is recyclable.
The spray is contained in a small clear plastic bottle about the size of a spray deodorant, the spray mechanism is covered by a clear lid that is easy to remove and replace. On the front sticker below the Avon Naturals logo is a picture of a yellow flower that must be Soy and a piece of what looks like bark, but I know it is vanilla. Along with the product name and description is the Bioseed logo stating that the product contains Bioseed complex . The rear label has the instructions, warnings and contents list as well as the afore mentioned logos.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:
Usually in the catalogue at £4.99, but often included in Avon's 3 for 2 and even 5 for a £5 offers. It is however, one of those products that drifts in and out of the catalogue, so look out for it. Available from Avon catalogue, Avon on-line and other outlets such as Amazon and eBay.
A good, quality natural product that does not bring on an Asthma Attack but the smell is a little too subtle for an air freshener.
CONCLUSION & STARS:
I like the fragrance, but these quality sprays from Avon are not cheap at normal price and I would buy almost any other one from the range first. I don't think the smell is strong enough for use as a "normal" air fresher to mask nasty niffs. However the fragrance lasts well, especially in a shut room and on linens. If I spray a cushion before bed one night, I can still smell the fragrance the next evening when I come in from work.
