My little girl loves bananas and so I always throw one in my bag before we go out so she has one to snack on later. I was growing frustrated however of it getting bruised and bumped. Also sometimes my little girl only eats half of it so when I put it back in my bag the end always got really sticky and went all over the inside of my bag and ruined so I decided to purchase a banana guard.

These are the funniest looking things and I also think a bit silly, I would never normally use one of these if it was just for me but I have found it to be very handy. A banana guard is basically a plastic carry case that is shaped like and looks like a banana. It is made of yellow plastic and is in the shape of a banana. Now I was quite skeptical at first as I wasn't sure that this would fit all bananas, after all some are shaped a bit funnily but to my surprise this really has fit all the bananas I have ever bought for it. The plastic is a bit bigger width wise than bananas normally are so it fits in that way and it is curved at the end so it will fit really long bananas and short bananas. The plastic clips together in two places and holds quite securely, I have never had it come open in my bag which is nice. THe protective case measures 25cm (10") in length.

The plastic also has little holes I assume to let the banana breath. Of course, this is not an airtight container so it will not keep the banana for any longer than they normally do especially if you put an open banana in there. It is dishwasher safe so good for washing and microwave safe although I cannot imagine an instance when you would want to microwave a banana but hey, who knows!!

At about £5 I think I paid this is one item I can definitely recommend.
