When I was much younger my Mum always had some Bio Tex in the cupboard which is probably how I came to have some. I've got the spray version and it's been in my cupboard under the sink for so long I have no idea where we bought it or how much for so I've had a look and surprisingly it isn't found as easily as I expected it would be. It sells for about £2 for a 500ml spray bottle but you may or may not be able to get it in your local supermarket. Our Somerfield used to stock it but that has recently closed so keep your eyes peeled for this gem! The spray version is a trigger bottle in a bright blue with Bio Tex across the front. This product does not ... Read the complete review

As a mother of four children washing is one of my many jobs around the home. I do spend a lot of time scrubbing and soaking many stained items! As a result, I am always on the lookout for products that will make my job easier. One of my sons plays rugby two or three times a week and I frequently have to find ways of getting rid of the mud and grass stains. Most recently, having been away on holiday and leaving my eldest son and daughter 'in charge' of the house I returned to find every tea towel used and stained! One of the tea towels in particular had been used to 'mop up' some blackcurrant juice...I couldn't quite make out all of the stains ... Read the complete review

I did an art A-level about 5 years ago and, as you can imagine, spent a lot of time painting. I managed to ruin several items of clothing with accidental paint stains - in particular trousers, since the college art department stools always seemed to have wet paint on them! Oil paint was definitely the worst offender - even if I did catch the stain before it had dried, the oily texture was almost impossible to shift from the fabric. One day after a particularly bad stain had appeared, my mum suggested I try the Bio-Tex stain remover spray she'd bought recently, as it claimed to be tough on grease. I sprayed some on the garment, washed it in the machine, and - ... Read the complete review

Bio ex is a superb product that you rarey see advertised and as such it is one of those products that gets promoted by word of mouth, it can also be a bit hard to find however I found that a local iron monger shop near me stocks it so was able to buy a couple of the spray versions and it is superb for getting out stubborn staines on colourfast clothing. It contains no bleach however it is not to be used on wool or silk clothing. The botle has one of those trigger dispensers which works well, you should treat both sides of the stain with the Bio Tex and allow it time to soak in before washing it on its normal cycle. The smell is not very pleasant but the ... Read the complete review
