had always wanted a cordless screwdriver and I recently treated myself to one. I am an enthusiastic though not particularly good do-it-yourselfer and whilst putting a screw in is not the most tiring thing to do all these things add up and anything which can ease the burden is welcome.

The Black and Decker cost £34.49 from Argos (Catalogue number 710/8857) which puts it at the top of the price range for such screwdrivers. It comes with a wall mounted charger unit and putting this on the wall was the first job I did with the screwdriver. It also has a neat carry and storage case.
There are enough bits included with the screwdriver to do any job you are likely to do. I do have to say though having used the screwdriver you must choose the right bit or the screwdriver will slip off. When it does so and you still have your finger pressed on the button you can do a lot of damage either to the screw or to the piece you are working on. So be careful. Assuming all is OK and you have got a good connection with screw bit head to screw then it soon whizzes the screw in (or out) as necessary.

The screwdriver has only one speed but has five different torque settings depending on what you are screwing into. So far I have not found any difficulty with what I have used the screwdriver for. I do find I do not use the cordless screwdriver for every job. There are still jobs which are just too small needing perhaps one screw putting in but if you have a lot of screwing to do then the Black and Decker cordless is a great help.
Is it worth £34 when there are budget models available around £15? Probably not but I would hope the durability of the Black and Decker will pay longer term dividends. Time will tell.

How does it work when its cordless? Batteries you can fit yourself or is there a charger? Is there a pack to keep all the bits together? Is it noisy in use and heavy? If you update your review pls let me know.
