A couple of weeks ago I decided to redecorate my hall. Not a job I was particularly looking forward to, too many doors to paint for a start! However, before I could even contemplate painting, I had to strip off the old wallpaper and border. I always do all my own decorating so looked out my trusty scrapper and soaked the walls. After giving the water time to soak in, I started to scrape. Nothing happened, it wouldn't budge. Perhaps I hadn't waited long enough or soaked it sufficiently? I then soaked the paper a further couple of times but still it wouldn't move. Had someone sneaked in and super-glued it to the walls whilst I had my back turned? I thought what am ... Stripping and getting steamy in the hall.. This is a tale about the very first time I used a steamer to strip wallpaper. I used it to strip the wallpaper of the walls in my front hall. The wallpaper in my hall had been there for years and years, painted over several times. With just having finished the kitchen extension and just about to have a front porch added to the front hall it was time to remove the wallpaper from the hall walls. . Now can we afford to get the decorators in? No spent too much money already. So I started to take off the wallpapering the old fashioned way applying water with a sponge then scraping it off with a scraper, tum ti ... Read the complete review

This is a review about a Black & Decker wallpaper stripper, I've used & owned these, plus other models, over quite a few years, so i'm qualified to write about it. The model being reviewed is the KX3300T which is 2300 watts, and has a 4 litre capacity. The model uses an electric heating element to make the steam. The unit is left on the floor, with the steam going up a pipe, to a pad which is held on the wall or ceiling. The older style Black & Decker (BD1200) worked as a single unit, and you supported the weight of all the water as well as the machine. With this model, the steam goes exeactly where you want it, it does cause condenation, but so ... Read the complete review

I bought a Black & Decker wallpaper stripper a few years ago when they first came out. This is an electric stripper that gives steam through many holes on it's underside, like a lrge steamiron. The adverts looked very good, effortless stripping of all wallpapers, having started to redecorate this would be a good buy ? Having used it you are better off sticking to the old fashioned way of water, sponge and scrapper. The steamer needs to be frequently refilled with water, although this is fairly straightforward to do it is heavy when full. The baseplate clogs up with bits of wallpaper and glue so needs to be cleaned quite often. When it is steaming it ... Read the complete review
