Body shop candle
Just before Christmas and with these candles being half the RRP of £10 I treated myself to a few.
**Product and Packaging...**
The candle comes nicely packaged in a sturdy box with a lift off lid (Complete with ribbon to pull it off), so even when transporting, there is little chance of the holder smashing. On the front of the box there is a stylist picture of what I assume are vanilla and tonka beans.
When I take out the candle, I immediately like its appearance. The candle holder is round and very plain clear glass with a white 200g candle inside so it's quite a substantial and fairly heavy candle. There is no discernible scent when the candle is unlit but since I find this can often happen I was positive that when lit the candle would have some kind of smell.
The candle does light easily and unlike some candles, keeps burning until I blow it out- thankfully the wick doesn't get lost in amongst the wax, which is a definite bonus. However, even when lit there isn't much of a scent, and certainly not sufficient to scent a whole room unless its very very small. Saying that, what smell I could discern did smell slightly of vanilla but I couldn't smell anything else.
**How to use the candle...**
Place the candle on a level, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, flammable objects, and obviously away from children. It is suggested that for best results, the wick should be trimmed to 5mm before each use, although I didn't do this and it worked fine.
**Ingredients...**
Geranium oil
Soya oil
Palm oil from responsibly managed sources
Unbleached cotton wick
**Verdict...**
The normal cost of the candle is £10 which is quite pricey for a candle, although at £5 it was worth a try.
The candle is beautifully presented, and looks good in its chunky glass holder but the lack of scent is a little disappointing because for the price I was expecting a lot more.
Given that the candles are expensive I wont be buying them on a whim but still think this would make a nice gift
Thanks for reading
