Bold 2 in 1 Gel.
I love a good old freebie. And while hunting on the freebie board on moneysavingexpert.com I clicked on a link which led me to a Bold site. It was a launch of the 2 in 1 gel, and they were giving free full sized samples to a limited amount of people. I popped my name in, thought nothing else of it, and was shocked and rather delighted to find a large "Bold" box sitting on my doorstep when I returned from work. It was the Lavender scented one that I got, but inside there was a book of £1 vouchers for the next 4 purchases, so I have since tried the Ruby Jasmine a few times. I only really use it on my own clothing for a change, as one of our kids has very sensitive skin and needs careful choices of detergents.
Ruby Jasmine is the burgundy coloured bottle that is pictured here. The liquid inside is a thick pinky colour and you will find a dosing cup attached to the top of the bottle. It has like a silicone insert where you measure either 37mil or 46mil depending on whether you live in a hard or soft water area. This is quite a minimal amount, especially since you wont need a separate fabric softener.
You simply put your load into the washing machine, put the liquid into the dosing cup and place it on top of the clothing. Select your washing cycle and that's all. Please be aware, this is not suitable for delicates or wools. It also says not to put the dosing cup into the dryer, but I have occasionally done this by accident and it has not resulted in any huge issues.
In terms of scent, I like jasmine smells, but this is not overly strong. It is quite floral but it doesn't stick around too long. Clothes smell nice for a day or two, but soon you do not notice the scent at all.
It cleans well. I can't say that I have noticed it leave any stains behind on the clothing. That is the most important thing really. It does have some effect on my daughter's sensitive skin if I have used it by accident, but we find this tends to happen her with 2 in 1s anyway. She used a bib one day that had been washed using this and it left a pink itchy trail on her neck, although it only lasted a few hours.
At the moment it is on offer in Tesco, and it is also taking part in the Credit Crunching Brands (www.creditcrunchingbrands.com) initiative, where you will get £5 of coupons if you collect £10 of packets. This seems like a good idea to me and I am going to save up the vouchers.
At the moment I have the bottle sitting beside me as I write and it is really very pleasant indeed. It also looks really nice. I know that isn't too important, but it is always a plus.
I'd say this is a good choice, but do be careful if someone in the house is suffering from delicate skin conditions.
Summary: A nice change of scent for the washing.
