Advantages: Easy to use. Effectively cleans washing and removes stubborn stains
Whilst I'm always on the look out for a bargain and will always consider cheaper brands, one area where I simply won't skimp is with clothes washing products. The product I am discussing in this review is the only brand I use - Bold. I use quite a few of their products, but my favourite has to be 2 in 1 Bold Gel Infusions in the Ruby Jasmine fragrance.
Bold is manufactured by Proctor and Gamble and this product comes in a distinctive 19cm high dark red plastic container.
The product stands out on the supermarket shelf as it has the famous Bold logo with the word Bold in bright orange lettering and a swirl of water behind it in blue and red. The advertising on the front of the container states "Luxurious Fragrance release even after 12 hours of wear".
The gel is concentrated and will provide both softness and freshness to your washing. The bottle contains 592ml with Proctor and Gamble advising that it will provide you with 16 washes.
The concept of this gel is that the perfume is in micro bubbles, which allegedly attach to your clothing as it is being washed. Apparently, each time your clothing is touched, it releases the scent, which then renews itself. This is a little technical for me, but in my experience, the scent is extremely long lasting.
The bottle sits on a flip-top lid and to use you simply dispense the required amount of gel into the cap, which is clipped on to the top of the bottle. The cap contains an inner transparent plastic "ball like" shape, which you fill with the required amount.
Whilst the rear of the bottle advises you use 37ml for a medium wash and 46ml for tough stains, I always feel this is too much. I simply half fill the cap, which is then placed on top of your washing within the machine. In doing this, I can make my bottle last for much more than the 16 washes that Proctor and Gamble advise.
The gel is suitable for all washing types, except for delicates, such as wool or silk and should not be used for hand washing. The gel is of a fairly thick consistency and is a light pink in colour and smells absolutely gorgeous when the cap is opened.
When you open your washing machine door after the load is finished, you can instantly smell the gorgeous perfumed aroma. The manufacturer's advertising is most definitely correct, as the scent definitely lingers for hours and I can always smell the freshness when I open my wardrobe. The gel is extremely effective and cleans my washing well and removes any stubborn stains. I'm a keen gardener and frequently have grass stains on my clothes, which completely disappear when I use this product.
I particularly love using this on my bedding, as you can instantly smell the subtle scent of the gel when you snuggle up and lay your head on the pillow.
There are five different fragrances in this range, namely:-
· Crystal Rain and White Lily
· Lavender and Camomile
· Sparkling Pomegranate and Orange Blossom
· White Diamond and Lotus Flower
· Ruby Jasmine.
The downside with this gel is the price as it normally sells for around £4.43 for a 592ml bottle. However, Tesco are currently offering two for £7 until 31 May 2010. I tend to shop around as I frequently see it for around £2 so stockpile and so far, I've never had to pay full price.
The bottle can be recycled after use.
This product gets 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me and I would highly recommend it.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
