I was looking to buy some new washing detergent a couple of weeks ago in my local Tesco when I spotted that Bold 2 in 1 Gel was on offer, I always like to try and buy whatever is on offer so I decided to give it a go, plus Bold is a brand that I don't really use much so I was keen to see how it compared to other brands I had tried in the past. I was too sure about the fragrance that was on offer but decided to go for it anyway.

Packaging
The Bold 2 in 1 washing detergent comes in a white almost round plastic bottle, the bottom of the bottle which also doubles up as the lid is flat so that the bottle stands up. The lid is made from a lilac coloured plastic and has a small flat in the middle of it which clicks open and shut. The front of the bottle has a round label stuck to the front of it, this has a circle in the middle of it half of which is dark blue and the other half which is lilac I assume this is to demonstrate the idea of the detergent being 2 in 1. Written across this circle in the middle of the label are the words "2 in 1 Bold Gel" the words 2 in 1 and gel are written in dark blue whilst the brand of the detergent "Bold" is written in larger bright orange letters making it really stand out. Right at the top of the label in a small area which is sectioned off and coloured dark blue is a statement about the detergent saying "12 hours of wear clean and fresh feeling" this is all written in white lettering to make it really stand out, certain words are also written in a larger font compared to the others. Going down one edge of the label are a series of small purple flowers and down the other side a small white flowers, I am guessing these are to illustrate the fragrance of the detergent which is Lavender and Camomile, this is written right at the bottom of the label in white writing. There is not really much other information on the front of the bottle, other than a small symbol to demonstrate that you can get 18 loads out of this one bottle. The back of the bottle also has a round paper label stuck to it, this contains instructions of how to use the product along with various warning and precautions as well. These are all written in dark blue writing making them easy to read, also the washing instructions are all demonstrated with illustrations. Attached to the top of the bottle is a small measuring cup, this is used to squeeze the gel into and then place inside your washing machine with the actual clothes.

The Gel
I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when I brought this product, I thought it was going to be of quite a thick consistency but the question was how thick and was it going to work as well as the liquid detergents. I squeezed some of the product into the measuring cup and discovered that the product inside was a reasonably thick pale purple gel. As soon as I squeezed the gel into the cup I could instantly smell the lavender fragrance of the product, however the camomile was less noticeable, it was definitely the lavender that was the dominant smell. I did wonder whether the lavender and camomile combination might be a bit strong and overpowering but I was pleased to discover that the fragrance also quite strong was not overpowering and was very fresh so I was sure it was going to leave my washing smelling clean and fresh.

Washing Instructions
Using the Bold 2 in 1 Gel is very easy you simply remove the cap from the top of the bottle, then squeeze the gel into the measuring cup until full, or nearly full depending on how much you wish to use, the measuring cup sit inside much larger cup so if you overflow the centre piece it will not go over the floor. Once full you place the whole thing with the washing inside the machine and turn it on as normal. The instructions on the back of the bottle states that you should not put the gel in the draw, although recently I have been as my measuring cup seems to have disappeared.

Warnings
This product comes with a list of warning and precautions to take when using Bold 2 in 1 Gel, however these are standard for this type of product, and include
*Keep out of reach of children
*Avoid contact with eyes
*If the product comes into contact with eyes rinse immediately and seek medical advise
*If swallowed seek medical advise immediately taking the product label with you
*Rinse and dry hands after use
*Avoid prolonged contact with the product if you have sensitive or damaged skin
*Contains Hexyl Salicylate - may cause an allergic reaction

Price
I purchased my bottle of Bold 2 in 1 Lavender and Camomile Gel from my local Tesco and it cost me about £2.00 for a 667ml bottle, at full price this sized bottle should be £4.50. Personally I feel this is quite good value because although the instructions suggest you use a full cap per load I have found that I can get away with using slightly less when doing small loads meaning that the bottle lasts me longer. I was pleased to see that it was on offer when I purchased it, however I would be willing to buy it at full price as it has proved to be very long lasting, the clear swirl along the side of the bottle lets me see how much I have used.

My Opinion
Overall I would definitely recommend Bold 2 in 1 Lavender and Camomile Gel, it is extremely long lasting from what I have seen so far making it well worth the money. After I have used the product my washing smells lovely and fresh and I can instantly smell the lavender fragrance on it when I remove the washing from the machine. With some products I have used in the past the fragrance of the detergent/ fabric conditioner has faded very quickly especially after the washing has dried, however with this product my washing still has that fresh Lavender fragrance long after the washing has dried. Obviously the main thing is whether it cleans well or not, and so far I have to say I have no complaints at all, my washing comes out extremely clean and it even works well on tough stains. This is an ideal product for the whole family, although I wouldn't recommend it if you do not like the fragrance of lavender, but for us it is an ideal product. If I had to say one disadvantage it would be that it is not ideal to use in the machine draw, although the bottle does suggest you do not do this, however I cannot find the measuring cup and have been using it in this way, if I use a bit too much of the product it does not always all rinse out of the draw, however this is my fault for loosing the cup and would not stop me using the product or recommending it.
