Bold 2 in 1 Enjoy the freshness all day long.
Washing the clothes is not one of my favourite household tasks but with two kids, myself and a husband it is a necessary evil but thankfully these Bold 2 in 1 washing gel tablets make the job a bit easier and a bit fresher.
I first bought the Bold variety when it was on offer in Tesco. I find washing gel tabs rather expensive so tend to buy whatever is on offer as usually this is quite a good deal. You can end up getting two boxes for the price of one which really is very good value. The Bold 2 in 1 tablets come in a big plastic tub and there are 33 gel caps inside each tub.
The tabs are blue and all they consist of is some gel with plastic wrapped around it. The gel tab is then added to the washing machine and when it gets hot the plastic breaks down, adding the gel detergent to the wash. It's a really simple way of washing and I much prefer these to powder. Each gel tab is equivalent to one wash so you don't need to worry about putting in the right amount and measuring it out, its already done for you so its hassle free. A little tip, when I add mine to my washing I try and put the gel cap as far to the back as I can and sometimes under the clothes. This way I know it will split at the right time and make sure its get to all the clothes. I have had times where I've just thrown the gel cap in and it gets stuck at the front of the machine and all you're left with is a big gloopy gel mess at the front of your washing machine and dirty clothes still!
What I also find really handy and time saving about these gel caps is that they not only contain detergent but fabric softener, hence the 2 in 1 name so there is no need to add extra fabric softener. I think this is really good as I know it only takes a minute or two but when I am quickly throwing a wash in its nice to be able to just add one thing and then start the machine. I find that these gel tabs really make my clothes nice and soft and they never come out all hard which is great.
I also like the smell of these gel tabs too. You can get them in a variety of different smells nowadays but the tub I have are the white lily and crystal rain smell. I love this smell, its really quite fresh and breezy and not as strong as some of the more fruity smells available. you can smell it long after you've washed though. When I hang my wet washing out upstairs to dry it smells really lovely and fresh and smells up the whole upstairs. The box has is blue with a blue lid and has a nice picture of a lily on the front of it.
Bold also comes with scent release technology so when you move around and touch your clothes you will get that nice fresh scent after you have washed to. I can't say I can smell this all the time but my clothes do stay nice and fresh and clean until they need washing again.
All in all, a fresh, clean, convenient way to wash.
WHAT IS IT?
A washing powder with included fabric softener.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
Put the required amount into your washing machine drawer and turn your machine on as usual. You do not need to add separate softener but you can add a half dose if you want to.
WHAT I THINK
I like the smell of Bold 2 in 1 but wish it was a bit stronger because when I put the laundry away the smell vanishes very quickly. This powder washes my clothes very well and is gentle on my skin even when I wash my quilt cover and sheets using it. I don't think it softens very well and that is why I add extra softener, especially when I am washing towels or dressing gowns.
I only use it for my husband and I when I wash our clothes because I use Fairy or Persil Non-Bio to do my children's laundry. My husband wears white shirts for work and when I use Bold the shirts come out of the washing machine clean and have not gone gray or discoloured even though they are about 6 months old. I used it to wash my horse riding clothes yesterday and they are very clean now, the Bold got all the mud off and has left them bright and clean ready for tonight's ride.
The washing powder rinses away very easily and it doesn't leave any powder marks on our clothes even if I only use a short rinse cycle. It is not very good for hand washing clothes but if you do a lot of hand washing you should buy a box of Dreft or other powder designed specific for that.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
BOLD WASHING POWDER 2IN1
'''WHAT IS BOLD?'''
Bold is a laundry detergent made by Proctor & Gamble (P&G) the same as Ariel, Daz and fairy. Oh! Sorry! My mistake! I meant it is different to Ariel, Daz and Fairy. The difference is Bold contains a fabric softener, so there is no need to have a separate softener! This means no waste and no mess!
Bold is available 6 different fragrances and also available in gel, powder, liquid, tablets and liquidtabs, this review is based on Bold 2in1 crystal rain and white lily powder.
Bold comes in different size boxes depending on the one you buy. I bought a 25 wash box from B&M Bargains for £3.99, about 1/2 the price of the supermarkets, hee hee!!
My bold comes in a blue box with the familiar Bold logo in the middle in orange. 2in1 comes underneath and a circle with 3/4 of the circle dark blue and the other 1/4 a light blue to represent detergent and softener. On the side around the circle is a statement 'Detergent + Fabric Softener so you know it is a 2in1. On the top of the box is '12 hours of wear clean and fresh feeling' and this statement is very true. Underneath the Bold logo is the fragrance (crystal rain and white lily) and on the side where the fragrance is, it has a picture to represent it. So on crystal rain and white lily` the crystal rain side has well, crystal rain and white lily on the other side. I've also ogt the coupons off your next purchase when you spend £10 or more on Proctor & Gamble products, either shampoo or cleaning.
Bold say to first check your water, wether it is hard, medium or soft and then you know how much you need to use. Then Bold say to sort your washing to the colour (whites, lights, brights and darks) and by the items care label. That is how you keep your clothes looking your best. Now I will give you the dosing instructions (based on loads 5-6kg.
HARD WATER MEDIUM WATER SOFT WATER
NORMAL SOIL 165ML '''130ML''' 95ML
HEAVY SOIL 230ML 195ML 160ML
For tough stains add an extra 70ml and for pre washing at 75ml into the pre-wash compartment. For extra burst of freshness at extra 75ml. people who have washing machines which are large (launderette size, 7kg+) add an extra 40ml to the recommended dose. For handwashing dissolve 20ml of powder per 5ltr of water.
'''MY THOUGHTS AND EXPERIENCES'''
The powder itself is white with little blue and red specks scatterd across it. No scoop is supplied but I have plenty (two P&G ones and two persil ones!!) so that dose'nt bother me!! The smell of the powder is a pelasant one and is nice after the wash too. I had a load of bedding to go on (light coloured bedding) and decided to put Bold to the test... Bold claims to work on temperatures, at 20c, 30c, 40c, 60c and 95c. I used 135ml because I have soft water and I also have a 7kg washing machine so measured accurately for the sake of this review. Now after I loaded it up, I set my machine to a quick wash cycle (I only use that cycle) and pressed go...
During the cycle some foam came up from the bottom of the drum when the machine started washing but this dissapeared during the rinses...
When the wash finished I hung out the washing to dry and when it was dry it smelt terrific! Nice and soft too! But I also found it smelt better and felt softer when using a tumble dryer, but you do notice that with any detergent but usually the smell dissapears, but not with bold!!
Having a look on the side of the box I found Bold contains a water softener, so no need for Calgon!! Also a website is available if you want a free scoop or liquid ball or other laundry tips, visit www.bold2in1.co.uk.
In my opinion this Bold 2in1 powder does great!! It saves you money without having to purchase a softener or even water softener!! It smells great and cleans very well!!
A LOT BETTER THAN ANY OTHER 2IN1 POWDER ;-)
THANKS FOR READING! :)
HAPPY WASHING!! :O)
I am one of the very few people I know that actually enjoys trying different types and varieties of washing powder, from tablets to powder, you name it I have tried it!
I brought the Lavender and Chamomile 800g box around 2 weeks ago, and it has just ran out. I have used bolds 2 in 1 powders before and have often found they do not live up to all they promise, however this 2 en 1 was/is different to the other powders within the range - I'm sure of it.
As soon as you open up the box you can instantly smell the frange which is strong, feminine yet fresh smelling all at the same time. After getting the first scoop out of the box I thought the fragrance would disappear, leaving my washing smelling just clean, however I was pleasantly suprised. I could smell the pretty floral scent of the powder even when it was in the drawe of my washing machine which I was very impressed with.
I wash all loads on 30/cold wash, and thought this might cause some of the scent to be lost during washing, however I was yet again suprised in a good way. I pulled the washing out and could still smell (virtually instantly the lavender, which was lovely)
So, it had passed the washing stage, but the real test was going to be would it pass the 12 hour stage (as it says on the top of the box - 12 hours of wear clean and fresh feeling) I found that with each piece of clothing washed in the bold 2 in 1, lavender and chamomile, clothes stayed fresh for aroun 8 hours, which was good enough for me, maybe I didnt use enough?
I brought this box fore £3.50 from my local tesco express store, which I thought was a little bit pricey, but hey it was convenient. I am sure you can get it for a lot cheaper if you are prepared to shop around.
Lastly and not leastly the only thing I haveto comment on is the texture of the powder and how many washes I was able to get out of an 800g box. Firstly, the powder is white with little blue bits (crystals) in and looks very much like any other washing powder I have seen before, and secondly I only got 9 washes out of my box, even though it says I should get 10 (For the record I followed washing guidelines on side of box)
In conclusion if you want fresh smelling clothes that leave you feeling clean and fresh for 8 hours, then this is the product to buy.
Bold is a range of laundry products from Procter and Gamble.
~~2in1 From Bold~~
The majority of Bold products are 2in1 meaning they offer a cleaning detergent as well as a fabric softener in one pack. This review concentrates of the Crystal Rain and White Lily variety which is available in powder, liquidtabs, powder tabs, a gel and also a liquid. I use the powder one.
This powder claims to have "12hours of wear clean and fresh feeling". It is a biological powder and is suitable for washing machine washing and also hand washing clothes. It claims to work on all temperatures from 20-95c and on all coloured clothes.
The box holding the powder, will vary depending on which size you purchase. The larger box us blue with water drops and flower decorations adorning the front and all the relevant information around the box. It has a carry handle and to open, there is a tab that tears around 3/4 of the box. No scoop is provided but you can contact the email address on the box for a free one to be sent to you. The box can be recycled.
Bold have given instructions based on the hardness of the water in your area. These are a guideline only. This is based on loads of 5-6kg.
*soft water - 95ml (160ml heavy soil)
*medium water - 130ml (195ml heavy soil)
*hard water - 165ml (230ml heavy soil)
Extra soiled clothing requires an additional 70ml and you should add 75ml for prewashing. 20ml of powder is required for each 5l of water for handwashing.
~~Availability and Price~~
This powder is available in supermarkets and other laundry supplying stores.
800g or 10washes - around £3.00
2kg or 25washes - around £6.00
4kg or 50washes - around £11.00
Despite there only being 3 of us in our flat, I normally do 1 or 2 washings everyday. I am one of these people who cannot wear a pair of trousers twice and wash my sons clothes after every wear. As you can imagine, I go through lots of laundry cleaner and whilst I have tried the liquidtabs and liquids before, I always go back to a powder. My preferred brand is Surf but I only buy when on offer. A few weeks ago, I was in Tesco and noticed I had washing powder on my list of things to buy. I spotted this Bold 2in1 Crystal Rain and White Lily on offer. Tesco had and still have a 42wash (3.36kg) box and I believe I paid around £6.00 for it so it has went back to its normal price of £10.42.
The box design is fresh and pretty in my opinion and I have it sitting out on my window sill as it used that often! At first, I didn't notice that it contained a fabric softener and although it works perfectly well without any additional softener, I have found myself adding a small drop of Comfort sometimes. Anyway, I have a little glass jar which I use to scoop my powder up and into my washing machine drawer but if you like to ensure the right amount is going in, use a measuring scoop for accuracy.
~~Scoop It Up and Turn It On~~
According to the map on the box, I live in a soft water area so I can more washes from this box that someone who lives in London for example. Inside the box, the powder is filled quite far up but not enough to spill. There is a mass of crumbly white powder with flecks of red and blue (a bit like toothpaste!) and the scent is fresh and clean. I normally keep to 2 settings on my machine..standard 40 or a 60 if I am doing towels and bedsheets (the joys of having a manky hubby and potty training son!). I am not very good at seperating colours through laziness I suppose but I know which things will dye others and keep them aside.
The true test of the powders performance is based on how it works when used alone as it claims to offer a 2in1 formula. Now, if you are a bit cautious with 2in1 things (ie shampoo/conditioner) then you may not believe these claims. The powder is very concentrated to the point that it is certainly more vibrant and stronger scented that many others I have tried. Whilst the clothes whizz around the machine, a good amount of foam appears inside and I can actually detect a fresh smell coming out the machine.
~~Fresh and Clean~~
Once my washing has stopped, I am keen to either hang it out on the line or get it over the dryer. With the weather being so bad recently, it has mainly been dried in the house which isn't ideal but at least it smells nice! On removing the clothes from the machine, everything smells fresh and rather crisp and airy! Usually I need a seperate softener to give off any decent scent but this one is favourable. The clothes, even whilst damp, are soft and once dried, keep their softness and a good amount of scent is locked in leaving my drawers smelling lovely.
I have been really impressed with how well this powder cleans the clothes. On normal washes, I find it brings my white clothes and light clothes up bright and sparkling. Basically, it keeps them the colour they should be and doesn't allow them to go dull even after several washes. For darks, it keeps the colour locked in and my favourite black combats have yet to turn greyish despite other powders having failed in this aspect in the past.
I suppose I am lucky that my son isn't a messy eater and therefore I don't have an exceptional amount of stains to contend with but I am a messy eater with certain foods and there is nothing worse than having my favourite top covered in tomato sauce or soup. If I get it into the machine quick enough, before the stain sets, it comes up clean with little or no trace of stain on my clothing which is a big bonus for me!
Despite both myself and my son having sensitive skin, neither of us have experience any reaction to this biological powder. When wearing my clothes or wrapping myself in a freshly dried towel, they are soft and smell gorgeous. On the rare occasion I add my own Comfort, it overrides the Bold scent and adds extra softness which can sometimes be handy.
~~Conclusion and Recommendation~~
Although this powder is more expensive that others, it does contain 2in1 formula and you can get away with not buying a seperate softener. I am very happy with how it cleans, softens and scents my clothing and other laundry. At the price I paid, it was a bargain as I have found I have gotten more than 42washes from my box. That being said, I am a penny pincher and although I would love to buy this one again, I will wait til it comes back on offer and snap it up then.
An excellent laundry product that I can fully recommend to you all :)
Very disapointed with this product. I have used Bold 2in1 for some time now, but recently I have had the problem where a number of the liquitabs have been stuck together (8 in the last pack) therefore I either have to cut them apart which creates alot of a mess and loss of some of the tabs or put them all in together, which is then one very expensive wash. My last purchase was on an offer so I bought two packs, hopefully the second pack will not be as bad as the first, if it is, I will not be purchasing this product again.
I often like to experiment with washing powders and fabric softeners. I enjoy trying the new smells and usually pick them up on some kind of offer is possible. There is a very wide choice when it comes to this type of product and it can take me some time to decide which one to try.
My favourate fragrances are the natural ones, not too heavy, delicate and a hint, rather than over-powering. I have tried many different types and overall I would say my favourate brand is bold. The 2 in 1 range is particularly good because you don't need a seperate fabric softener, which in itself saves quite a bit of money.
The 2 in 1 range is a range of powers which are both a washing powder and a fabric softener. There is a choice of fragrances including my favourate lavender and camomile. The lavender has a really homely smell, b ut isn't overpowering as some lavenders can tend to be.
It works really well with both the washing and softening side and I don't use a seperate fabric softener. My clothes always come out clean and soft and smelling gorgeous. It also works out very good value as you can buy quite large boxes of this and get a bulk buy saving, and can work out to be as little as 20p, even when not on offer.
Bold 2 in 1
We have been predominantly been using Bold for years, I have tried the power, the liquid tabs and my favourite choice is by far the liquid gel. Personally, I find that when I use the liquid gel that it lasts for twice as long as it should because I prefer not to use the recommended amount, instead I use quite a bit less in each wash.
I never use an additional conditioner, personally I find that Bold lives up to its 2 in 1 guarantee and I never feel the need to use an additional softener, as my clothes when washed are usually always clean and soft. In the past I have used a different washing up powder with separate softener and I really didn't notice a difference apart from a change in fragrance. Buying Bold means that I get everything I want from one product, with minimal fuss and without any additional cost.
The Bold gel is really easy to use, all you do is squirt a small amount of the gel into the plastic cup that comes with each container. Then you place that into the washing machine beside your clothes, close the door and set the washing machine to your appropriate settings. The gel is easy to squirt out and is a nice purple shade while being quite thick, it also smells quite strongly of your chosen fragrance. The plastic cup can be used time and time again.
Even if you only use a small amount the smell and cleaning properties are good, I find that for our normal washing Bold really gets everything clean at cooler temperatures. The coolest our washing machine washes is 30 degrees Celsius and that combined with Bold is enough to get everything clean, smelling lovely and looking refreshed. We don't tend to have overly dirty clothes to wash, but I regularly wash the dog's bedding and toys with a very small amount of this and they always wash up well and even with only the tiniest amount of Bold you can still smell the nice scent when you open the washing machine door.
There are different fragrances of Bold available, but personally I prefer the lovely lavender and camomile. Not only does Bold wash my clothes well, but in the past I have had some bad reactions to washing powder, which has never happened with Bold. The fragrance although lovely and strong right after washing does fade nicely when the clothes are dried so you won't get too many competing scents if you wear perfume.
I tend to stock up on these when they are on special, I think I bought quite a few gel versions last time Asda were offering them for £3. Typically a gel bottle with around about 18 recommend washes will cost £4.50. Even at the full price I find that this is excellent value for money, especially as I use a little less each time and get the same great results. They are packaged really nicely and I have never had a problem using them, even when I dropped one and accidentally cracked the lid it still worked perfectly.
Bold 2 in 1 really gets a full five out of five stars from me, I buy it time after time because I find that it delivers great results. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to other people as it really does leave your clothes clean, soft and smelling lovely even when washed on lower temperatures.
Bold 2 in 1 comes as either a washing powder or a washing gel in either bottled or liquitab form. Having tried both types of products I can say that I found them both to be rather good at cleaning a variety of clothing and house hold items from towels to sheets etc.
Some of the varieties of Bold 2 in 1 have been better than others in terms of the longevity of the fragrance after the washing has been dried. In all cases the end result has been nice fresh clean washing with the minimum of fuss.
Favorite Bold 2 in 1 products have been the Bold Infusions range which offer some rather stunning fragrances and also give good cleaning results. The Bold Infusions 2 in 1 Liquid Diamond wash gel is one I have found works well. You get up to 16 washes from the 592ml bottle and the cleaning power is good.
The 2 in 1 gel liquid washes can be bought for around £4 each but can also be bought on offer at times. When using the gel product you can either put some into a dosing ball if you have one, or pour some of the gel into the dispenser in your washing machine. Having tried both ways of using the product I feel the dosing ball does work well.
The Bold 2 in 1 washing product range also comes in the more traditional powder form and yet again there are gems that I have found work well and smell great too. The Ruby Infusions is a favorite as is the Lavender and Camomile wash powder. Sizes of the wash powder boxes range from 800g up to the large super packs which can give 28 + washes per box.
When using the powder form of the range, I have found that you can get away with using a bit less than the stated amount and yet still get good wash results with most lightly soiled wash loads. With loads that need a bit more of a helping hand, I still use the stated amount. The use of too much wash powder can play havoc with your washing machine and as these modern powders work so well I would advise that using a bit less won't hurt.
So far I have not used the Bold 2 in 1 Liquitabs, but will probably give them a try when I see them on offer. As a whole range of products I feel that Bold 2 in 1 wash products are a good range which can suit a variety of washing needs. Both the powders and liquids work well.
The Bold 1 in 1 wash products I have tried are not the cheapest range you can buy, but regular offers are around and this can help to minimize costs. Having been happy with the results from this range I feel a 4 star rating is more than fair.
I normally buy seperate plain washing powder (cheap and cheerful) and the a fabric conditioner of strong secent like bold.
However, whilst shopping a saw bold 2in1 powder on speciall offer. For 2kg box normally just under £7, I got it for £4 this was the ruby jasmine infusions. Seeing as I like the smell from the conditioner I thought this would be a great bargin.
The box - 2kg - ruby jasmine infusion is red colour mainly with the standard bold 2in1 logo on the front. The box also has ruby and jasmine pictures dotted around. On the back is a little speel about the luxuries of jasmine and ruby, to one side is a very useful and informative guide on fabric and health safety. Shows you what you should and shouldn't do, under which is a helpline and information of where to get advice, or a free scoop! Then underneath again is a small part about how to save water and co2 emissions - good for the eco friendly of us.
On the other side is another useful guide of how to do your washing - good for all new home leavers I guess.Other bits include how hard water your area is and how much powder to use.
Dotted all over the box is the statement about 12hours of fragrance, and that you get approx 25 washes per box.
You open the box and it smells fantastic, although perhaps a little strong for some as it is quite concetrated. The powder inside is pink and white tinged.
The powder washed my clothes well all standard stains removed as I would expect from a big name brand and the clothes were soft at the end. However, the fragrance - where did it go! I could hardly smell it when I got it out of the machine and it had well and truely gone by the time it had dried on the line :(
Dissapointed, I will still by bold infusions but stick to the fabric conditioner seperatley, where the smell does last.
I started to use Bold 2 in 1 just after Christmas when my local supermarket had run out of my usual size of Non-Bio Persil. It was fine for a short while although the smell was really too strong for my taste. After using the Bold for several washes I developed a rash on my upper chest and neck. Tried to get rid of it with cortisone cream but it did not work. Went to the doctor who prescribed other creams which only partly helped the itching but by then the skin had become scaley and tough. I then started to sneeze a lot and eventually had to have antihisimin tablets to help calm the skin down. I have now stopped using Bold and gradually I have become less sensitive BUT each time I wear something that I had last washed during the time I was using Bold I get a recurrance of the problem.
It is interesting that so many people can use Bold without having any problems. I felt that I should say what my experience of Bold 2 - 1 was like even though the majority of reviews were/are different.
we had the bold 2 in 1 liqui-tablets pomegranate and orange blossom well we would never use them again as they were awful they didn't dissolve properly and they stuck to our cloths also they didn't smell fresh at all we would liked to of complained but there was no complaints department which is disgraceful
I bought this when it was on special offer in Wilkinson and paid £1.97 for an 800g box. Usually it is on sale for £2.97. I have never used this before but thought I would give it a try bearing in mind it was on offer.
Upon opening the box I got a whiff of the powder which was pretty strong but pleasant and also noticed it had little flecks of blue and red mixed in with the white powder. This is a two in one washing powder so fabric softener is not needed which I thought was handy as my machine would not take the fabric softener. I poured some powder in the drawer and topped it up with soda crystals and waited to see how clean my clothes would come out.
I was very impressed with this after my clothes had finished washing and noticed the smell was gorgeous and you could definitely smell the lavender. My clothes came out soft but I wasn't sure if this was because of the powder or the soda crystals I put in but I have no complaints as my clothes came out soft. The colours seemed to be brighter and my clothes were clean and the baked bean stains removed and on a white wash I was still impressed when I washed everything at 40 degrees and the sheets came out brighter and clean.
Another thing I noticed and which others have stated previously is the smell on my clothes do last for several days afterwards even after I have put them away. I thought this was good particularly on my gym kit and it was great to pull on a fresh smelling tshirt before my spinning class.
I do not suffer from sensitive skin and cannot say if those who do suffer from sensitive skin should try it but for a great clean and fabulous smelling clothes this powder is great. Highly recommended.
Having experimented with a variety of washing tablets of late, I decided to give the Bold a tablets a shot. The two in one tablets are designed so that you do not need to use a softener as well. Obviously the option is there if you do still want to put in a dash of Comfort or something.
Available in a range of scents, to cater for all noses. The lavender one seemed a good one to plump for, especially in this harsh winter season. If you sniff the tablets, you will get a strong aroma of what they are about to offer. It is a fresh and exhilarating scent which stimulates the nasal passages.
It is worth sticking two tablets into a wash for a heavy load, but you could just about get away with one if you're just washing a few smalls I reckon. You may either stick them into a drawer or directly into the machine. I usually put mine into the drawer, feeling this allows them to travel through the water better initially.
The results are pleasing. Clothes smelt very fresh after just one wash and there is definite aromatic aroma of lavender in the air, which not only clings to the clothes but also helps keep the wardrobe smelling good. Compared to Tesco Colours, the smell on the Bold tablets is more ravishing and exciting, but I guess it would depend on how floral you want your clothes to smell. In terms of softeness, pretty good here too with an earnest amount of bounce to the clothes after they had dried and no stifness.
In terms of value for money, it is dearer than a shop bought brand, a thirty pack of these tablets is about a pound or so more than the Tesco Colour tablets, which usually cost about three pounds. However, they do deliver a great clean, a powerful and not too overwhelming scent and longevity. Would I buy again, yes I would.
I recently purchased a box of bold 2 in 1 powder that i found on offer in Tesco's in the lavender and chamomile fragrance.
I was quite impressed with the results. The fragrance on opening the box can be slightly over powering though after using the correct amount i found that it left the clothes smelling lovely and fresh with a light lavender aroma.
As for the wash performance i cannot really fault it it left my whites lovely and bright and even removed coffee from my partners white shirt.
However i am not convinced that you could get away with not using a fabric softener especially with towels. Don't get me wrong it certainly did not make the clothes any stiffer than with regular powder but i could tell that i hadn't added any separate softener with the towels that came out a bit rougher than they usually would.
Overall a good powder and smells great but you still need fabric softener.
