REVIEW ON BOLD 2 IN 1 “LAVENDER AND CAMMOMILE” LIQUID.

I haven’t got a favourite washing powder but after using Bold 2 in 1 liquid I think my view may have changed on that.

I saw this in Sainsbury’s and it was on offer for £2.79 for a 20 wash bottle. Usual retail price at Sainsbury’s is £3.19 for this bottle.

THE BOTTLE*****

It comes in a white plastic (re-cycleable) bottle which has a handle moulded into the side of the bottle. This makes it very easy to pick up and pour. The top is a screw on lid with a purple band running round and the label on the front shows all the usual washing liquid pictures – you know the sort – flowers, swirling water etc. The label on the back tells you all about the dosage to use depending on how soiled your clothes are etc. There are also some washing tips like how to separate your clothes into colour groups. I guess there are some people out there who don’t know how to do this!!

THE LIQUID*****

Wow!! When you open the lid the smell of lavender and camomile hits you like a ton of bricks. It is a really lovely floral smell and the lavender is predominant in this bottle. It smells really clean and fresh. When I first used it I was sceptical as to whether it would make my clothes smell this nice or not. When you pour it into your ball (which is not supplied with this bottle but if you need one you can apply for it on their website) it is a very thick gloopy sort of substance. The colour is like a pearlised purple and is not dissimilar to expensive looking bubble bath. The smell is still very strong and I am a bit hypnotised with it.

THE PERFORMANCE******

Well I have been using this for about a week now and with 4 kids, a cat and a dog that means a lot of washing! I am very impressed so far I have to say. It has got everything clean and has left no stains on anything, which is saying something, as my kids have to be the messiest kids on the planet! AND even more important to me in a funny sort of way is that all the clothes still smell gorgeous and just like the original smell from the liquid. My tumble dryer has just broken down so I have been drying the clothes on the radiator until it is fixed and the smell kind of permeates through the clothes as the heat dries them. My whole hallway smelled beautiful yesterday!

OVERALL OPINION*****

I am definitely giving this 10 out of 10 as it has come up trumps on all the important things for me in a washing liquid. The fact that it is a conditioner as well and you don’t have to buy that separately is a benefit and it is one of the combination cleaners that I have tried that does actually do what it is meant to. The clothes are clean, soft and smell delicious.

This liquid is not suitable for wool or silk garments and it also states not to pre-wash. I’m not sure why this is but it may help someone.

It also warns that if you have damaged or sensitive skin to avoid prolonged contact with the liquid.
