Advantages: Versatile, can be re-used, very handy
Disadvantages: Can leave oily marks
Where would I be without blu tack? My walls would be bare and posterless, my little Doctor Who and Batman action figures would fall down all the time, and I would have an extra £2 in my pocket...
Since I was a child, blu tack has always been in my house. It would be used to stick my strange blobby drawings to every inch of the kitchen wall, and when Christmas came, it would come out to stick chains of beads and tinsel to the stair banisters, cards to the walls and ornaments to the mantelpiece. Then when the decorations went down, the blu tack would be rounded up and stuck back into its packet, ready for its next outing.
It never fails to amaze me how the little blue blobs never seem to lose their stick. Time and again they can be used, and they work just as well as the first time. As I mentioned before, they can be used for a variety of different things; the packet has some tips, such as using it to remove fluff/dirt from keybourds, holding up posters, cards and maps, and holding down telephones, model parts during construction and, my personal favourite, "screws to screwdrivers." Well, it's nothing if not versatile...
One bad point is that it does tend to leave little oily marks if its been on the wall a long time, but the packet has an answer to this also - it recommends chewing gum remover should take the stain away.
I think I bought my (large) packet from the now defunct Woolworths, where it cost about £1.99 if I remember correctly. Whatever the exact price, it's well worth the money, and you won't be disappointed.
Summary: Go on, get sticking!
