Advantages: Sticky, does what it says on the pack
Disadvantages: Only hold small things, can leave a stain
This is a great invention!
Blu Tack is a putty like, rubbery subtance that comes in a thick layer, within a cardboard sleeve.
It can be used as an alternative to glue, nails, screws and sellotape. It is designed mainly to hold things to the wall, and is great for light-weight objects such as posters and calendars. It can also be used to hold items down, such as telephones, small ornaments etc that often fall over.
All you need to do it break a small bit off and sandwich it between the wall/surface and the object you are fixing, and it will hold it.
I would advise against trying to use it on heavy items, or even giant posters, as it has a tendancy to stretch and the item will eventually fall off. It is perfect for small things though, as that is what it was made for.
I have occasionally been left with small blue stains on the wall, so be careful. If, after taking the item off the wall, you are left with someblu tack still in place that wont come off, all you need to do is roll a bigger piece over it, and it comes away completely.
Stick with the Blu Tack brand rather than cheaper alternatives, as it tends to be stronger and stay sticky for longer.
Also fun to make small animals out of whilst you are sitting at your desk, but I appreciate that not everyone will want to do that!
Summary: Everyone should have a pack at home!
