Advantages: Sticks anything on walls

Disadvantages: Sometimes doesn't stick things on walls for very long!

Noah is a budding artist and draws picture after picture so me being the proud mummy that I am, wanted to display them in one way or another. Despite the fact that we aren't allowed to use Blu-tack in he house we rent, I went out and bought some anyway. It cost me around £1 at my local Sainsburys but you can purchase it at any supermarket or stationary store.

I love Blu-tack and find the whole 'warming up' process very therapeutic. If you don't know what I mean by 'warming up' then basically you need to 'play' with the tack before using it as it tends to be ineffective if it isn't warm when you stick something. You need to work it through you fingers and give your hands a bit of exercise before deciding which bit of paper to stick up first.

I like the fact that the tack tends to stick to most surfaces and I have even used it to put the boys wooden names plaques on their bedroom doors. They have been up for a good five months now without showing any signs of falling off.

Every now and again you will find that the tack does fail and you end up having to re-work it and re-fix something back up.

One of the downsides to this stuff is the fact that it leaves a mark on the wall if it has been up for a long time. It tends to drain the colour from paint so it's very clear where it has been hence the rules that our landlords put in our contract!

This is a great household product that should be in everyone's bottom drawer!
