Bostik Blu Tack
Advantages: Sticks well
Disadvantages: Not all of it can be reused
I originally started using Blu Tack in my teenage days, it was useful to use to stick up my poster and photo collection when I was trying to cover each and every inch of my bedroom walls. Since having my own house I've found myself using the sticky blue stuff again.
Blu Tack comes inside a blue cardboard packet and is stuck inside two sheets of a paper material to keep it free from sticking to the cardboard outer packaging. The Blu Tack takes the shape of a long slab whilst it's in the packaging, it simply works by taking a small piece of Blu Tack from the slab, rolling it into a ball and pushing whatever you want to stick to a surface, the harder you push the more that object sticks.
I mainly use Blu Tack for sticking Christmas cards to the walls and doors and for Christmas decorations. Just recently I've been using it to stick my daughters drawing and crafty bits to my kitchen cupboards. Blu Tack handles all of these jobs well and can hold quite big cards etc to the wall with no problems. Once I need to take down whatever I have stuck to the wall (or whatever surface), the wall looks perfect, like nothing has been stuck up in the first place. I can remember in my teenage years that there used to be little circles all over my walls from using Blu Tack but I haven't experienced that in the last couple of years so I'm not sure what has changed.
Once Blu Tack has been used and finished with, there is no need to throw the Blu Tack out as it can be reused. When it comes to taking Christmas decorations down, I usually have tinsel mixed in with the Blu Tack so that needs to be chucked away, but for other things I simply roll it up into a ball and put in the kitchen drawer ready to be used another day.
Blu Tack is widely available and doesn't cost a lot, usually between £1-£2 for a small pack. I'd definitely recommend it if you are looking for a cheap, clean way of sticking things to walls. It's a staple for every home.
Summary: Nice adhesive
