Advantages: heavier duty than the cheaper brands

Disadvantages: Very expensive.

Bounty has recently been renamed "Plenty". I cannot understand why and do not particularly like the new name.

Normally I wouldn't buy Bounty as it is really expensive (£1.99 for 2 rolls or £3.26 for 6 rolls of 50 sheets) but with a manufacturers voucher (from their website) and an offer on in Superdrug, I decided to give it a go for a change.

The first thing I noticed was the pattern. I remember there used to be a Garfield range of designs a few years ago that I personally think they should bring back- there's nothing better than some cartoon characters in your kitchen!

Bounty/ Plenty has a reputation as being a premium brand of kitchen roll. Their TV ads boast that you can use a sheet of kitchen roll, wring it out and re-use it. I've never done this, nor would I want to. Kitchen spills are not the sort of thing you want to wring out then re-use the piece of kitchen roll. As Kitchen roll is just a larger thicker padded piece of tissue, the idea is to just mop up or dry off (ie lettuce or rinsed salad leaves) and discard.

Bounty does what it is supposed to but it isn't like the industrial "blue roll" in terms of absorbency, but it is kitchen roll. There is only so far you can go in terms of Kitchen roll.

I will still only buy this product if there is an offer on which makes it really cheap. As the £1 shop sells Disney themed Kitchen roll, I'd rather go for the £1 a pack version with a cartoon theme than pay the extra just for the brand name or reputation.
