I looked at some 12 volt drills in Argos by Black and Decker and they were over £45 and only went up to 650 rpm, in the end I decided to risk it and when for the cheaper Challenge drill which is 12volt, 800 rpm, and has a carry case and a small collection of screw driver bits and twist drill bits (Cool). I have now used the drill extensively for the last two weeks and it has been fantastic, charges seems to last all day even with hard use and you can recharge over night (5 hours). Having recently bought a new house, and deciding to take a week off of work to install a totally new fitted kitchen on my own (and having never done anything like it before) I decided to shell out on some new tools. Argos sell the Challenge brand of electric power tools. They are made in China and priced at the budget level. They are ideal for the diy user. I recently bought their electric mitre saw. This gives a quick and easy way of making mitre cuts. The saw has a powerful 900 watt motor, this makes cutting through hard and soft woods very easy. The saw can be adjusted through 45 degrees left or right to give the required angle. This is done by loosening 2 bolts and moving the carriage.
