Having recently bought a new house, and deciding to take a week off of work to install a totally new fitted kitchen on my own (and having never done anything like it before) I decided to shell out on some new tools. First up was a battery drill, after looking around at some drills such as Bosh and black and Decker, and talking to some of the guys around the office (I work in construction) I decided to look for a reasonably fast (i.e. 800rpm), and powerful, i.e. a decent 12 or above volt job (not the nasty 6 volt things). Argos sell the Challenge brand of electric power tools. They are made in China and priced at the budget level. They are ideal for the diy user. I recently bought their electric mitre saw. This gives a quick and easy way of making mitre cuts. The saw has a powerful 900 watt motor, this makes cutting through hard and soft woods very easy. The saw can be adjusted through 45 degrees left or right to give the required angle. This is done by loosening 2 bolts and moving the carriage.
