Advantages: It's nice and soft.
Disadvantages: Won't break down in pipes.
If you are renting, this toilet paper is fine. However, if you own your own home, it is not.
My plumber just explained to me about the cotton in Charmin toilet paper, and how it won't break down in the pipes.
He told me that my pipes were clogged so bad with it, that even after the floor drain was snaked, the main needed to be also because of the Charmin build up had moved into the main and nothing was flowing. ($193.00)
Don't take my word for it, just take a sheet of Charmin and get it wet. Run the Charmin between your fingers, basically wringing the water out. You will notice it will not fall apart, and this is why it doesn't break down in the pipes.
Try this experiment with other toilet paper, and you will find a better product for your drain pipes. Nothing is worse than finding water in your basement after Charmin does its damage. It's also no fun to see wads of Charmin pulled from the pipe and stack opening looking like a big cotton ball that makes a perfect obstruction for a pipe.
Don't fall for the sales, and cute baby on the packaging. Babies just go in their diapers anyway.
Summary: This toilet paper may be popular, but it is bad news for your drain pipes.

If only I'd read this before I bought a 'bargain' 48 rolls of the stuff. My drain blocked within a couple of weeks of switching to this product AND did it again 10 days later (today). I thought there might be a connection so searched and found this article and another on the BBC website...... I certainly won't buy this product again.
