Advantages: offer price, light scent, cleans well
Disadvantages: regular price
Cif is a cleaning brand which falls under the Unilever company. As well as offering a range of multi-purpose and kitchen cleaning sprays, they also offer a few different bathroom cleaners. The spray in question today is the original Cif Bathroom Spray. Alternatives include a cream spray and a power pro spray for the bathroom.
Cif state that this spray has been formulated for cleaning bathroom surfaces. It can be used on chrome, enamel, ceramic and stainless steel surfaces. Cif claim this spray will rid your bathroom surfaces of soap scum, limescale and watermarks. This spray should leave your surfaces sparkling clean and shiny.
Cif market this spray as having a 'powerful trigger action' which helps the spray work a bit more effectively. The bottle is made from thick white plastic which is ergonomically shaped for easing handling. The label on the front shows shiny bathroom surfaces so you cannot fail to remember this is for the bathroom and not the kitchen. The important warnings and product information is well presented on the back of the bottle. The trigger spray is made from green plastic and there is an on/off nozzle. It is important that you store this away from children and animals. Common sense really!
This bathroom spray can be purchased in supermarkets in a 750ml sized bottle. Tesco currently offer it at £2.75. Asda have it on offer at £2.00 a bottle.
I normally buy whichever cleaning sprays are on offer and providing they perform well, I am happy to repurchase them. I actually stocked up on the Cif Bathroom Spray when Asda had the 500ml bottles reduced to 50p a few months ago. This offer is currently available in Asda stores just now but the 500ml size is not available online. This is a good price for a branded cleaner. I wouldn't pay the full price as there are much cheaper options available which work just as well as Cif.
At the time of purchase, I also bought the kitchen spray for 50p but I wasn't impressed by the heavy bleach scent it offered. Thankfully I quite like the bathroom version though. I'm not overly keen on cleaning but I do like to keep a clean, tidy home and would absolutely freak if someone visited and my bathroom wasn't spotlessly clean. This cleaning spray is very easy to use and grip. The trigger function works perfectly and has never clogged. A sharp pull of the trigger releases a fairly powerful blast of liquid which foams up slightly as it makes contact with my surfaces. One spray covers a good amount of surface so I do not need to use a massive amount for all my surfaces.
I use this on all my bathroom surfaces and really have no complaints. I spray and leave it for a minute or so on light marks and a little bit longer on stuck on marks. Cif state that you do not need to scrub with this spray - simply spray and rinse and I find this is fine for most marks but I prefer to use a disposable cloth around my toilet bowl which is a bit more difficult to rinse. I sometimes like to quickly run a cloth over my other surfaces too as this spreads the liquid a bit better! I use this in my bath (which I have a shower over the top of), my sink, the window ledge, the ledge under my sink and around the back of my toilet and the seat to fresh it up.
The spray rinses away quickly leaving no residue. I am happy with how well it performs. It quickly removes any shower gel spills, shaving foam, toothpaste and any other marks. Any limescale forming around my plugholes is also washed away easily. My bath and sink come up shiny and very clean. This spray eliminates any marks around and under my taps and removes them leaving my taps looking shiny and fresh. The scent of the spray is fresh, clean and not too chemical smelling which I like. The scent lingers for a short while and leaves my bathroom smelling refreshed as well as looking clean and sparkly.
For 50p I cannot complain about this spray. It does clean my bathroom with very little effort. I do find that I sometimes need to use a cloth too especially if the marks are a little heavier or stuck on. I wouldn't pay full price for this as there are better sprays on the market but for the offer price, this does work well. I give my bathroom a full clean twice a week but usually run over the surfaces with this spray daily and one bottle lasts well. I personally haven't experienced any discomfort from using this spray.
Summary: good cleaning spray from Cif
