Advantages: good clean

Disadvantages: .

CIF
Well I bought myself a cream cleaner having nearly run out of my tesco cream cleaner I decided to try CIF to see if it was any good
The CIF I bought came in a yellow plastic bottle with a green lid. The tesco cream cleaner citrus comes in a yellow plastic container too but with a red lid
This morning I needed to clean the surfaces in the kitchen and a pan I had cooked flapjack in so I opened the lid of the tesco cleaner and was met with an astringent lemon smell. I thought I know I will compare. The smell that came when I opened the top of the CIF cleaner was almost the same if not the same.

I squeezed a little CIF cleaner onto the surface I was about to clean, also a little tesco cleaner in a different place. The consistency of the cif cleaner was slightly thicker only slightly. Both liquids were the same pale yellow colour.

I got my cleaning cloth and wiped over the work top with the CIF cleaner .it was good left the surface clean easy to use and then I rinsed the surface with clean water .I have another surface the other side of the sink I used a different cloth and the tesco cleaner this was also easy to use. I rinsed this surface each cleaner had a similar if not same result. My surfaces were not really dirty or stained though.

I decided I would compare them on a baking tray an oldish one I had cooked the flapjacks in this tray had residue of flapjack stuck to it a few burnt on fat marks.
So I squeezed a little CIF on one end of the baking tray I used a damp j cloth and cleaned the lose residue of flapjack came of easily I then tried the burnt on fat spots. I needed to rub these a little harder the new burnt fat spots came of wit a bit of elbow grease, then I tried a burnt on fat spot which I had been unsuccessful on last time .I rubbed and scrubbed at this using lots of elbow grease and a little CIF some of the mark came of not all I shall have to rinse and try again.
Well I repeated the procedure with the tesco cleaner on a very similar mark the result was very similar. When you do not wrinse the area you have cleaned with Ciff A chalky residue is left , just wipe it again with a dasmp cloth.

So for cleaning pans I would recommend both. This was a not a pan with a not stick surface so I shall have to get my abrasive scourer out for the really baked on fat. I found the results from both cleaners similar neither one much better than the other the tesco cleaner is slightly cheaper so I shall continue purchasing it in future.

Just read the labelling both contain non ionic surfants
Both instruct you no keep out of children?s reach and not to use on plastic surfaces
I think the instructions on the tesco cleaner better as it tells you to wash mouth out with water if ingested and to seek medical attention also tells you to bathe eye in water if splashed in eye and tells you to wash skin thoroughly with water. The CIF bottle does not give first aid advice just says keep out of children?s reach I think the advice for first aid if ingested or splashed in eyes must be the same for both as they contain the same/similar ingredients always if unsure or concerned if someone has a bad reaction to these cleaning products seek medical advice.

Thanks for reading, happy cleaning. Mary

Summary: Acream cleaner non abrasive
