One job I hate doing & have been putting off for ages is giving the oven a real good thorough clean.

We had visitors for 16 weeks who continually cooked but never thought of wiping the oven clean & I was so overworked at the time that I've only just got round to doing it - but thanks to Cif it looks like I have a brand new oven.

The problem is that most oven cleaners I've used in the past have all had a horrible smell which tends to linger for a long time & puts me off using the oven as a form of cooking.

I read a couple of reviews on Dooyoo & decided to give Cif a try as it claims to be fume-free & is currently (15/11) on offer at Tesco.com for £1.67 which is half price - so I had no excuse for not trying it out!

The plastic trigger-action bottle is bright lime green so is unmissable on the shelf amongst the other oven cleaners.

The size I bought is 500ml & I only had to use about 1/5 of the bottle even though my oven was really bad. My oven actually looked like something you'd see on a shopping channel - you know when they burn on food & gunge to an excessive degree & you think that no one could ever have such a disgusting oven...?

I found the saftety nozzle a little difficult to open (it only has to be done the one time) but I blame my poor cognitive skills as the design is actually very good.

The trigger action is easy to use -full directions are given - but basically you just spray all the are which needs to be cleaned (excluding metal & rubber etc) & leave for the allotted time - in my case 1 hour.

When it came to rinse off I was a bit sceptical as I couldn't see any dirt - but when I looked at the cloth I couldn't believe how much stuff came off!

It's GREAT stuff - my oven looks brand new & I'm really pleased so will buy more to have in stock - just in case we have more visitors.

I wouldn't say it was 'fume-free' as there was initially some quite strong smell in the kitchen but this soon disappeared & the oven was ready to use when I'd wiped the last bit of grime away.

All directions & ingredients are clearly marked on the label & it really couldn't be a nicer or easier product to use.
