Advantages: Enables me to wash mixed loads of washing with no unwanted colour runs

Disadvantages: They are expensive unless you stock up when they are on offer

have been using Colour Catchers now for quite a while, a lady I worked with suggested them to me or conveniently dropped it in conversation about how good they were. (I think it may have something to do with the fact I was wearing a dark grey top which had a built in white shirt underneath, which had gone slightly grey)! I was quite sceptical in the beginning and didn't think they would be that amazing, especially for the price but I now wouldn't live without them.

-- Packaging ---

The Colour Catchers are packaged in a cardboard box, which has an eye catching design. The box is bright orange with the Colour Catcher brand name in white block letters, with an image of a washing machine door with mixed coloured clothes inside, a Colour catcher sheet with a rainbow coming out of it with the slogan 'The Proof is on the sheet!'. On the back of the box it has directions for use, a list of precautions and information of how the product works.

-- How to Use --

The sheets are really simple to use. I just place a sheet in the washing machine drum, before putting the load of washing in. Put the washing in, washing liquid and set it on the right program and then at the end of the washing cycle I take the washing out as usual and discard the sheet.

-- Effectiveness and things I have learnt --

The lady who suggested these to me had a reputation of being very frugal *bordering on stingy* and she said as they were expensive, she would simply tear the sheets in half and they worked fine. Me, being rather impressionable at times tried these and I can report that while the washing suffered no ill effects, my washing machine did. The half sheet blocked the waste water pipe, luckily my husband was able to sort it so I didn't have to call out a repair man but I wont be making that mistake again!

The Colour Catcher sheets are very effective and I used them a lot. For those that read my reviews often may know I have two daughters, aged 3 and 7 weeks, so in our household there always seems to be a lot of pink washing! The ultimate test was when I put my husbands grey t-shirts in with the pink load with a colour catcher and it was fine.

-- Price and Availability --

These are available in most major supermarkets and shops like Wilkinsons and Robert Dyas. Sometimes they are on sale in pound shops too so it may be worth stocking up on them while they are on offer. (That is what I do anyway). At the moment the Colour Catchers are £2.89 for a box of 24 in Tesco.

-- Overall Summary --

I would recommend this product. I find that it saves me a lot of time, and energy and probably washing liquid too as I can wash mixed coloured loads and be confident that the colours won't run.

Thanks for reading.
