Dylon Colour Catcher
Advantages: Saves time and effort
I am a Bzzagent which means I get sent products to review and then I share my views, reviews, products and opinions with others. A couple of weeks ago I was sent a pack of Dylon Color Catcher Sheets to try out in my laundry.
I had seen this before but I had never used them. No idea why as they have in the last couple of weeks become an essential part of my laundry! I live with my Husband who wears many bright coloured shirts for work, my 22 month old son who like most toddlers gets his clothes covered in food and general dirt most days so his clothes are always in the wash, and our 12 week old daughter who unfortunately suffers badly from reflux so my washing basket is full of muslins, bibs and clothes.
The idea of them is that they catch any colours that run from your clothes, therefore allowing you to wash whites and colours together without having to worry about a white shirt turning pink!
We always have plenty of laundry to do and I started using these sheets as soon as I received them. They are off white, like thick bits of paper, a bit stiff and about the size of a sheet of notepaper. You place one in your washing machine before you add the clothes. The first load I did I used older clothes that wouldn't matter too much of the colour catcher didn't work, but when the wash had finished and I found the colour catcher sheet it had turned a dark purpley colour. Proof that it did work, as none of my whites had changed colour!
I have continued to use the sheets in all my washes and I have not worried at all about putting whites and colours together, and each time the colour catcher sheet has come out with a different colour on it! I have not had any very vivid or dark colour runs on the sheets, but then our clothes do get washed alot so some colour may have already come out of them before I started using the sheets. Maybe I should treat myself to some new clothes to see how they fair!
The sheets retail for around £3 for 24 sheets, which I think is very good value, and I believe you can buy them in smaller and larger size packs than this.
They are very time saving as if like me all your washing goes in to one pile, you no longer have to spend ages fishing the whites out, you can just grab a load of washing and put it all in the machine without worrying because the colour catcher does the work for you.
Summary: Great idea
