Advantages: Smells gorgeous, very softening, lasting effects

Disadvantages: None at all!

I have a new love in my life; Mark needn't feel threatened, although my new object of affection definitely smells better! Strawberry and Lily Kiss is part of Comfort's Exhilarations range of fabric conditioner and it is absolutely bloody gorgeous.

Even the packaging is nicer than usual, a rich strawberry-like pink that really brightens the kitchen up and makes me feel all girly. The problem is uber-girly Hollie also loves it and from last month I've been forced to put it in a high cupboard to stop her applying it as moisturiser! Honestly, I've got a bathroom full of goodies and the child takes a like to the fabric conditioner!

Anyway, moisturising properties aside this is an excellent fabric conditioner. I've never been full of praise for any laundry product before; they either don't soften, make me itch, don't smell strongly/nicely enough - I could go on but there are a million things that can go wrong with fabric conditioner. But this one is just perfect, I'm so 100% happy with it that I've bought nothing else since I first discovered it in February. Apart from a rogue Wilko conditioner that seemed decidedly dowdy in comparison to the vibrancy that is a Strawberry and Lily Kiss.

From the bottle it smells delicious; but then they always do, even the ones that ultimately leave your washing smelling like mould. A single cap full is all you need for an absolutely amazingly scented load of washing, it definitely smells of strawberries but there's a floral undertone which I assume is the lily. I think part of the attraction for me is that this conditioner smells of the old Anglo bubble gum (before they took all the nasties out, goddam you EU!) and the smell of it takes me back to my childhood. Which is great as it usually feels so long ago!

The scent lingers on the clothes for a while even after they've been put away, obviously you're not going to smell it on a jumper that's been tucked away since Christmas but you can definitely get a decent whiff on an item that has been stored for a couple of weeks. It seems most intense when clothes are tumble dried which is presumably down to the heat but today I noticed that even when clothes have been hung on the line, rained on, dried, rained on AGAIN and dried AGAIN there is still more than a remnant of the deliciously sweet strawberry aroma.

The softening aspect is excellent too, when I do a load of jeans or towels I'll sometimes put an extra half cap in for that extra bit of softness but on other fabrics a single one is enough. To be fair, Comfort is always the most effective softening-wise but this one does take it a little bit further and leaves everything huggably soft. I love using this when I've washed my cuddly dressing gown as it makes the fluffy material so soft and snuggly, the smell is also a brill bonus on the days when I'm having a pampering session as it's so gorgeous.

This fabric conditioner has never caused any irritation, although the fact that it's so highly scented might make it problematic if you have particularly sensitive skin. I don't, but sometimes can get itchy when I use certain laundry products - the tropical scented Comfort does something strange to my skin so I was happy to find this one is so gentle. Another point worth mentioning is the fact that I also use this when washing my children's clothes, including my seven month old sons stuff, and none of them have had a reaction to it. I think the fact that Hollie coated herself from bellybutton to chin in neat Comfort shows how kind to the skin it is!

I'm currently using the large 42 wash sized bottle which I paid £3 when it was on special offer in one of the supermarkets (probably Tesco) but I honestly don't mind that the smaller 750ml bottle is more expensive than other Comfort products because I love it so much!

Summary: A gorgeous way to soften and scent your laundry
