“ Brand: Comfort / Type: Fabric Conditioner / Category: Laundry „
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a review on a Comfort fragrance, this bottle was bought in a promotional 2 for £3 offer and so this is the review for the second bottle that was purchased. This fragrance is described as strawberry and lily kiss.
This particular bottle of Comfort is 750ml which tells me on the bottle averages out at 21 washes. The bottle is a nice curved shape and a very girly pink colour with pictures of strawberries and lilies. The bottle is opaque so you cannot see when you are running out, you just have to rely on the weight or peering into the top. The packaging tells me that there is 100% more fragrance in every drop and the back also tells me the recommended amount to use per wash. For large loads this is 55ml, a normal load is 35ml and a Handwash is 18ml. The screw off lid is what is used to measure the liquid out and is then easily poured into the relevant compartment of your washing machine drawer.
I have only used this fragrance twice but I absolutely love it!! As soon as the washing machine door is opened, the scent fills your kitchen. Likewise, if you are drying your washing on radiators or in the tumble dryer, the fragrance fills the room and more importantly lingers on your laundry. The first fragrance that hits you is the strawberry but the lily notes are a lovely undertone. And not too girly either, despite the feminine look of the bottle.
I have been amazed by the Comfort Exhilarations range. Every fragrance I've tried has smelt amazing and even after my laundry being in a cupboard or wardrobe for a few weeks the smell still remains nice and fresh.
I love the fact it remains on my laundry after they have been tumble dried or radiator dried as I have found in the past other softeners have disappeared.
The softener also leaves my laundry lovely and soft and my towels nice and fluffy. Just like new! Everything smells so clean and fresh!
I would definitely recommend this and therefore give this product 5 stars.
I like to use a fabric conditioner in every wash load, it is very rare I don't use a conditioner because I do like my fabrics to feel nice and soft. I am not loyal to any brand and usually buy them when I spot them on special offer. This brand is very well know and I have bought this one a lot of times.
It comes in a pink plastic bottle which has a screw off top which can be used as a measuring cap. The bottle is very easy to get a good grip comfortably in the hands without dropping it and also for pouring it into the cap or the machine. As soon as the top is removed the fragrance is apparent. It has a really nice sweet floral fragrance and one which has a hint of perfume and a kind of sweet smell to it. Also a slight strawberry scent.
The liquid is a baby pink colour, it has a rich consistency and doesn't drip from the bottle neck. The texture of the liquid is really soft and smooth and fairly thick.
I usually just fill the cap almost full for a full wash load and half a cap when I am only washing a few items. This amount for both loads is an adequate amount. Using more than one cap isn't necessary with this fabric conditioner.
When I take my fabrics from my machine I can detect the fragrance immediately. It is a strong smell but not too overpowering. Once my fabrics have dried I can smell the fragrance. When I take my clothes from my wardrobe or drawers a few weeks later I can still smell the fragrance on them but it does fade the longer my clothing is in my wardrobe but the clothing still has a fresh smell to them.
This conditioners softens fabrics really well and leave my towels nice and fluffy and soft. It also gives a really nice smell to my curtains and when I walk past them or open my windows I can smell how fresh they smell and with a nice perfume smell to them.
I also use the conditioner for softening delicate fabrics but I just pour a tiny amount in my sink and just add warm water and soak the fabrics in the solution. I only leave them to soak for around a couple of minutes and usually no longer than 5 minutes in total. I find this amount of time is well enough to soften them and not ruin them.
It is very easy to rinse the conditioner from the fabrics and then just hang them out to dry. I have found the conditioner hasn't ruined any of my fabrics.
I love the smell of my bedding when I get into bed at night, I can detect the fragrance and they smell nice and fresh. I find fresh smelling bedding does help me relax a little bit more and have a better night's sleep.
This brand of conditioners is often on special offer and I usually buy my conditioners when I spot them on offer so that I save some money. I think it is excellent value for money and the liquid is a good quality.
For a 750ml bottle the usual full price is £2.30 but on offer it can be often bought for just a £1 sometimes and so if seen at this price it is well worth stocking up if you use a conditioner on a regular basis as I do. For this size of liquid it is designed to soften 21 normal wash loads. I would say it comes pretty close to this amount and a true statement from this brand. Also comes in larger bottle.
It tells me on the bottle that it has 100% more fragrance in every drop. It is a strong fragrance so who really knows if it contains more than some other brands in my opinion.
I have found this conditioner hasn't cause any rashes or irritations to my sensitive skin or the skins of my grandchildren. I have used this one for softening my grandchildren's clothing when I wash them at my home on a regular basis.
I highly do recommend this conditioner if you are looking for one which softens fabrics well and leaves a lasting fragrance on the clothing.
I will continue to buy it in the future because it softens my fabrics in a way I expect a branded fabric conditioner to work.
Also on Ciao under my username pinky50.
I give it 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
Since having my daughter I had always been really cautious when it came to washing clothes - ensuring her clothes were always washed separately and ours washed with different products to hers. As a newborn I was always advised that Fairy Non-Bio was ideal and religiously stuck to this. Being quite lazy I always just ended up using this for my clothes too but recently I decided I quite like nice smelling fabric conditioners and miss using these so started using a few different ones other than Fairy. I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I got a £40 Tesco voucher so I of course wanted to take full advantage. I found this 1.2 litre bottle of Comfort Strawberry and Lily Kiss on offer for £2 and although I hadn't used it before it sounded interesting so I opened it in store to get a whiff and was greeted by a lovely aroma of strawberry sweet scent so shoved it my basket and happily took it home.
The comfort comes in a nicely shaped bottle with a lovely designed label all the way around in pink design with flowers and a matching fuschia pink lid. The bottle does not have an easy to pour spout as the shape of the lid suggested to me but nonetheless it is still really easy to use.
As I mentioned before, as soon as I opened the lid the strong sweet, fruity smell wafts out which is not overpowering but smells really delicious and is almost tempting to drink! It looks like a really thick, lovely fabric conditioner which is a nice pinkish colour. It is to be poured straight into the washing machine and goes straight to work. There is no strict guideline of how much to pour out, the bottle just recommends that this can be used for 34 washes. Personally I pour probably three tablespoons out as I don't want too much and this allows me to make it last really long. With this in mind, I think this is a good amount as this leaves just the right amount of scent lingering in my clothes so it is not too sickly or sweet.
I have suffered eczema in the past and so I am usually quite conscious of what delicate products I use on my skin but I have not suffered any adverse effects so I have found this gentle and not in any way irritable. I am still quite conscious not to use any new products on my daughters skin as I am too much of a worry-munch to use something other than Fairy Non-Bio for washing her clothes!
I have loved using this fabric conditioner, especially on my bed sheets as once dry the smell is still lingering and getting into bed it smells all warm and sweet and makes bed time that much more cosy! This is a really good quality fabric conditioner that smells lovely, and when my clothes dry around the home it smells gorgeous and I get loads of compliments when out that my clothes even smell nice! I would definitely recommend this fabric conditioner and have totally fallen in love with it so would definitely recommend it in future and will buy it again, hopefully be even better if it's still on offer!
I am very intermittent in the use of fabric conditioner, if I have some in the cleaning cupboard I will use it, if I don't I won't.
A couple of weeks ago my Mother-In-Law was cleaning out her "End of the world" stock cupboard and she gave me a bag full of goodies that she no longer wanted. In that bag was a bottle of Comfort Exhilarations Strawberry & Lily Kiss Concentrated Fabric Conditioner. This fabric conditioner can be found at most good supermarkets and retails for around £2.20 for a 21 wash bottle but is regularly on offer for a £1 a bottle.
The first thing that struck me about the bottle was its pinkness, this is a very feminine looking bottle of fabric conditioner, I can't imagine a man reaching out for this during his weekly shop and popping it in his basket. The bottle is plastic and recyclable. The label gives us all the usual information on how to use the fabric conditioner, Ingredients, manufacturer contact details and health and safety information.
The lid is very easy to unscrew and the fragrance is released, to me this smells very sweet and a bit like a perfumed strawberry milk shake. At first I was not sure it was a fragrance I wanted mine and all the families' clothes to smell of but I went ahead and poured a capful into the fabric conditioner section in my washing machine draw.
The fabric conditioner itself is very pink, like milkshake, and has a rich consistency. It pours into the washing machine draw easily with the minimum of mess and the washer easily takes all the fabric conditioner during the rinse cycle.
When I remove the laundry from the machine I can instantly feel that the clothes are softer than what they are when I don't use fabric conditioner, the fragrance has settled now and is less strawberry milkshake and more floral and fresh.
When the weather is good I like to line dry my washing, the washing dries up very well and feels soft with minimal creases, I can still smell the fabric conditioners sweet floral fragrance, and I like what I smell. Towels and bedding feel very soft and comforting.
When it comes to ironing I find that clothes that have been washed with fabric conditioner tend to be easier to iron and this fabric conditioner is no different, the iron glides easily over the clothes and the creases disappear quickly, the steam releases the fragrance of the fabric conditioner and while it is still not a joy to do the ironing the fabric conditioner does help to make a rubbish job just that little bit easier.
The clothes, towels and bedding that have been washed in this fabric conditioner stand up very well to the sniff test, when I got the bedding out of the airing cupboard the following week to put on the bed I could still smell the sweet floral fragrance. The towels are still fresh and soft as they were when they were brought in off the line and clothes that have hung in the wardrobe for a week or more still have the fabric conditioners scent clinging to them. To be honest after I have had the clothes on for a couple of hours I can no longer smell the fabric conditioner but the added softness in the clothes is very nice.
Happily this fabric conditioner does not irritate any of my families' skin; my son and daughter still suffer with slight eczema.
In conclusion I find this a great smelling fabric conditioner; it softens and perfumes my laundry and makes ironing an easier job, I do like the scent but I would have to say it does not stand out from other fabric conditioners I have used. I would happily buy this if it were on offer but would not be willing to pay full price.
Thank you for reading.
When it comes to buying washing products (for clothes etc) I don't have a brand I am particularly loyal to. I normally buy whatever is on offer at the time. I don't have many wants when it comes to fabric conditioners, as long as my clothes, towels, bed linen etc come out clean, soft and smell nice then to me the fabric conditioner I have used is perfectly fine! I'm not fussy on fragrances, colours or whether they are easy iron etc, just as long as my clothes come out nice then that is all I am bothered about.
On my latest trip to Tesco Comfort had a big offer across their whole fabric conditioner range and the choice was rather tough! In the end I opted for the Comfort Exhil Strawberry and Lily Kiss fabric softener/conditioner. I chose it simply because I like strawberries and I like lilies so the choice wasn't particularly hard, especially when the bottle itself is pink as well as the liquid, yes I let the true girliness in me pick this product! Apart from the pinkness, Comfort is a reputable brand which I have used before and have had good results.
Comfort Exhils Strawberry and Lily Kiss fabric softener comes in a plastic shaped bottle with a screw in pink top which can double as a measurer. The bottle itself has a large pink plastic type label which is decorated with images of lilies and strawberries which really is quite fitting! The Comfort logo is on the front and on the back there are the usual usage instructions and the ingredients list together with the list of do's and don'ts. I have the 1.5 litre bottle and it clearly states with a little image on the front that it can do 34 washes, the 750ml bottle states 21 washes.
The fabric softener itself as I said above is pink in colour, it is a light pink which is perfectly fitting with the fragrance. However, what I expected to be light and floral with a sweet note to it but what I got was something more sickly sweet with a synthetic base to it which is certainly not to my liking. I found the overall fragrance a bit sickening which was a shame but as I wasn't going to waste a full 1.5 litre bottle I went ahead and used it regardless. The consistency of this fabric softener is as you would expect water like which is fine, you just have to watch how much you use in order to get the amount of washes it says it can deliver.
Using the fabric conditioner is pretty simple as you just pour the certain amount in your washing machine draw. I've used this fabric softener for just over a month now on all types of clothing, towels and bed linen and I have done by line drying, tumble drying and on a clothes horse and I do find that certain ways of drying clothes can distort the fragrance of a fabric softener (how sad is it that I know that or came to that conclusion!). I find with some fabric conditioners they just don't make the clothes soft enough and when leaving to dry naturally clothes need to end up soft!
Despite the sickly sweet synthetic fragrance that this fabric softener has the aroma doesn't completely stay when the clothes have been washed which was something I liked. The fragrance is a lot softer and not as sweet which is a lot nicer. The clothes turned out lovely and soft when dry even the towels and jeans which are usually the toughest of items to become soft when dried naturally but this fabric softener really did manage to get all items soft. Even when put away all the items had quite a lovely soft, floral fragrance which certainly lasts for quite some time, the fragrance is definitely a lot nicer (and certainly not as sickly) when diluted with water.
Overall, I do like this fabric softener I just don't like the fragrance when smelt from the bottle as it is just sickly sweet. However, on the plus side it makes the clothes and all the other items washed lovely and soft and leaves them with a nice, subtle more floral aroma which lasts. I don't think I'd buy this particular variety from Comfort but would buy again from the same range. Definitely a recommendation though as the items washed speak for themselves. I would give this fabric softener 4 stars, knocking 1 star off simply because of the fragrance.
