Advantages: Fresh, uplifting fragrance.
Disadvantages: The oily coating left on clothing when washed.
When it comes to the washing in our house there is only me that does it therefore I get the decision on what I wash it with and normally Daz is my first choice as it always leaves a scent on the clothes once they are dry which I do like.
As a tester for unilever products I received some of this to trial at home, normally I never buy fabric conditioner and I just opt for the 2 in 1 washing powders that have fabric conditioner in or the more fragranced powders such as Bold or Surf but as my partner had been to the supermarket he had picked up a box of bog standard supermarket own brand washing powder which seemed ideal to try with the fabric softener.
*~*The Bottle*~*
The product is in a clear plastic bottle with a bright orange coloured liquid inside whice reminds me of a tropical fruit juice drink, hence the name Tropical Burst!
*~*The Smell*~*
The fragrance is described as Mango and peach with coconut and its easy to recognise the smell of the coconut when I smell it in the bottle and pour it into the dispenser in my washing machine and let it work its magic.
*~*Any Promises with this product?*~*
I read all the details that are with the bottle and it claims to have "Fresh Release Technology" which means that the smell is released from the clothes periodically, for example when you move you can smell the fragrance of the fabric softener making your clothes appear fresher than normal.
*~*Opinion*~*
My only disappointment with the product is that when you remove the clothes from the machine they feel almost oily to touch as if the softener has left a thick coating on the clothes and I really don't like this as it initially made me want to wash the clothes again but without the softener.
I asked my partner to smell the clothes once washed to see if he could pick up on the scent and I have to say we were both disappointed as the aroma seemed to have dissapeared and we were left wondering where the burst of freshness had gone to.
I left the clothes to dry and went to work and when I returned home that evening I was greeted with a tropical frangrance as I entered the living room and this was from the clothes.
When I was ironing the clothes again the fragrance was coming through and I though that the smell would then wear off he clothes as I placed them in the wardrobe and it wasn't until I went to work 2 days later and I was sat in my sweater that I had washed a few days prior with the fabric softener when I realised that the softener was again present and the clothes smelt fresher than ever as if they had just been washed and my colleague even commented on the scent and asked what washing powder I had used.
Although I am not entirely convinced that I need fabric softener I will continue to use this especially on the bed sheets so that they remain fresher for longer but overall I do feel that some of the washing powders out there do just as good a job for a fraction of the price.
Summary: Fresh fragrance to keep clothes fresher for longer.

- 24/03/08 Good review - includes all the essentials. Expected that the price and size of the bottle would be included for the consumer but otherwise good. |
