Comfort Fabric Conditioner Tropical Burst
Advantages: NICE SMELL, SOFT CLOTHES, LONG LASTING, GOOD PRICES
Comfort is a laundry brand under the ownership of Unilever. They produce various products designed to clean and make your laundry smell nice.
Here we have a concentrated fabric conditioner from Comfort. This one is called Tropical Burst. It is recommended by both Surf and Persil. It is designed to leave your clothes feeling soft and beauitifully fragranced after washing.
In a bid to reduce packaging and therefore help the planet, Comfort have reduced the packaging by making their fabric softeners concentrated. This allows you to get the same amount of washes from a smaller bottle.
Like most of the Comfort fabric conditioners, the Tropical Burst comes in a see through plastic bottle in the shape of a tear drop. There is a bright orange screw on lid that also doubles up as the measuring cup.
There is a sticker on the front of the bottle which is orange and has flower and fruit images alongside a woman and the brand/product name. The slogan is "lasting moments of freshness".
The sticker on the back of the bottle has some information about the conditioner, the directions for use, ingredients and how to contact Unilever should there be any problems.
The bottle can be recycled once finished and washed out.
Inside the bottle, we can see a fairly runny and bright orange liquid. It is almost identical to pure orange juice.
The conditioner has to be poured into the designated section in your machine drawer and must never be poured directly onto your clothes. You can use the lid to measure the quantity required or pour and judge for yourself. Comfort recommend the following doses :
For handwashing use approx 18ml
For 4-5kg loads use approx 35ml
For 6-7kg loads use approx 55ml
Comfort clothes conditioner contains amongst other ingredients: , 5-15% Cationic Surfactants , <5% Perfume , Benzyl Salicylate , Hexyl Cinnamal , Butylphenyl Methylpropional , Coumarin , Benzisothiazolinone .
*Availability and Price*
Comfort Tropical Burst can be bought in a 750ml size (21washes) or a 1.5l size (42washes). Prices differ from supermarket to supermarket. Expect to pay around £1.60 for the small bottle and around £3.00 for the big bottle.
These can often be found on offer especially in Wilkinsons. They are currently offering the small bottle at 98p which is a bargain!
I love to wash clothes..no seriously, I don't believe there is anything nicer than freshly washed clothes. For that I need a good smelling conditioner to use along with my powder or liquid tabs. Comfort is a brand I trust and one I was brought up with. You will see that I have recently reviewing the Naturals one and an Exhilirations one but this is another one of my favourites : Tropical Burst.
Since getting my new washing machine a few weeks ago, I have been stocking up on various goodies for it. I usually go for any scent which is sweet or fruity and only buy when on offer. This may seem silly but if you look hard enough, one store or another always has Comfort on offer! My latest purchases have been from Wilkos at 98p for 21 washes. You cannot go wrong at that!
What first attracted me to the Tropical Burst fragrance is the very bright orange colour and the fact that to me tropical means fresh and exotic! The images of oranges and flowers backed up my feelings and I have bought this numerous times since it hit the shelves.
I don't personally use the cup to measure to the liquid, I have a guide in my machine drawer and depending on what I am washing depends on how generous I am. Personally hubby doesn't want to smell like he's just back from the Bahamas but I won't complain. I usually get around 16-18washes from my bottle which still is quite reasonable. So, having washed my clothes on a 30 wash, how does it smell and feel?
Well before I put the conditioner into the drawer, I had a whiff (as you do) and it is very strong almost like a floral cup of orange juice. It is very plesant. After my washing has finished, opening the door of my machine you get a pleasant fruity aroma omitting and filling my kitchen. My clothes certainly look and feel nice and soft. The smell is quite strong and overpowering but I love it!
I no longer use the dryer for my clothes and much prefer to hang them over my clothes horse at the window. The scent lingers in my kitchen and is a delight to be around. Once dry, my clothes still smell fruity with a very slight floral scent leaking through but not much.
I also like to wash my towels and bed sheets with this as the conditioner and have always been impressed. It is nice to go into my liner cupboard and catch a whiff of the clothes and sheets. Last night, after my toddler had a wee accident in bed, I put his duvet into the machine on a 60 wash with powder and Tropical Burst. Removing the duvet, it was perfectly clean and smelled wonderful. I hung it up over the door to dry and our the aroma lingered around the house.
Both me and my son have sensitive skin and have never experienced any reaction to any Comfort product. Also at around £1 on offer, this is a bargain as it works out at less than 5p per wash on average.
I cannot recommend this conditioner highly enough. It is like summer in a bottle.
