Comfort Fabric Softener
Advantages: WIDE RANGE TO SUIT ALL, OFTEN ON OFFER
Disadvantages: THIS ONE DOESN'T LAST AS LONG
Comfort is a laundry brand under the Unilever company. They produce various ranges of products to leave your laundry feeling soft and smelling fresh.
In the last few months, I have reviewed several of the Comfort Concentrate Fabric Softeners. I feel that the range is extensive and there is always a scent to match your family.
Comfort concentrate the softeners meaning that less is needed to perform their intented use. This therefore reduces packaging and helps the environment.
In this review I will concentrating (no pun intended) on the Original Comfort Concentrate Fabric Conditioner. This doesn't seem to be listed on here but it seems ok to put it in this review.
Here we have the simply named Comfort Concentrate.
This fabric softener is promoted as giving "lasting moments of freshness". It contains a special formula called "Fresh release technology" which means one cap is enough to release freshness as you move.
The fabric softener is designed to be used alongside your regular laundry cleaner (liquid, powder, tabs) and works to soften your laundry and leave it lightly fragranced.
It is ideal for the whole family and has been approved by Persil and Surf.
The concentrate version comes in a curvy, tear dropped shaped bottle. The bottle is made of strong plastic and it is see through allowing you to know how much is remaining. There is a large blue cap or top which is not only the lid, but the measuring cup.
The label on the front has the Comfort logo and a delightful background of the sky, grass and flowers. The label on the back has the product blurb, a bit about packaging, ingredients, how to use and contact details for Comfort.
The bottle can by recycled after use.
The liquid within the bottle looks thick though is actually runny. It is an intense blue colour and in its concentrate form, is very scented.
To use, measure the following amounts using the cap provided and pour into the right compartment of your washing machine. Select your washing mode and off you go.
For 6-7kg loads use 55ml
For 4-5kg loads use 35ml
For handwashing use 18ml
It is important that you don't apply this direct to fabrics. Keep away from children and avoid contact with your eyes.
Comfort conditioner contains amongst other ingredients: , 5-15% Cationic Surfactants , <5% Perfume , Butylphenyl Methylpropional , Benzyl Salicylate , Hexyl Cinnamal , Amyl Cinnamal , Geraniol , Benzisothiazolinone .
*Availability and Price*
Comfort is available in most supermarkets and stores such as Wilkos. A 21 wash (750ml) retails at around £1.80 and a 42 wash (1.5l) retails at around £3.30.
The 21 wash can often be found on offer at only £1.00!
I am sure by now, you have all realised that I am obsessed with buying fabric conditioners! Since being able to buy my new washing machine, I have been sampling as many of them as possible! I have different scents for different laundry items. I would say 99% of the time, I buy Comfort Concentrate! It is good value as I only buy it on offer in Wilkos and there is always an offer on.
A few weeks ago, I picked this one up. It doesn't have a fancy scent name which makes me think my Mum used the non concentrated one when I was younger. The blue colour reminds me of a blue sky which is pleasant and inviting. Opening the bottle, the scent isn't as fragranced as others in the range but is fresh and noticable.
I use this alongside my liquidtabs and don't personally use the measuring cup. I pop my laundry into the machine and pour a dose into the drawer. This 21wash bottle lasts me approx 18washes as I like to be generous! I usually pop my regular loads on at 30c and towels and bedsheets at 40-60c.
Once my laundry is finished, I open the door and unlike other concentrates in the range, I am not immediately hit with a perfumed scent. My laundry is super soft and simply smells fresh and clean. I leave to dry on my clothes horse and the room just smells fresh. It is very pleasant but no where near as exciting as the others in the range. I like to run my towels through the tumble dryer in the laundrette and they come out fluffy and light scented. My cupboard and drawers smell like a summers day where it is sunny but with a beautiful light breeze.
Myself and my son have sensitive skin and have not reacted with this concentrate. I am impressed with the results that it produces and will buy it again. Unlike the perfumed concentrates, my fiance doesn't feel like a big girl where clothes that have been washed in this. The scent doesn't last as long as others but the softness does.
