Advantages: Great for babies, cheap

Disadvantages: None

I am beginning to wash all of my baby clothes in preparation for junior's arrival and so I wanted to use a fabric softener that was safe enough for babies clothes and their soft skin. That's when I came across Comfort Concentrate Pure.

What first attracted me to this was the fact that it has a picture of a baby on the front of the bottle all snuggled up in their blankets. According to the baby website Bounty, Comfort Pure fabric conditioner is designed for babies' sensitive skin. It is dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic. Plus, its skincare research is validated by the British Skin Foundation and it's the only fabric softener working with the National Childbirth Trust. So, I feel I have definitely found a fabric softener that will work for babies clothes which is great.

As this is a concentrate it uses 50% less packaging and means it is better for the environment. In this day and age that's a great selling point and also a good reason in my opinion to buy this liquid. The bottle is also plastic and has a recycle sign on it so another way in which it is good for the environment. The bottle is quite small, only 750ml and it says it will work for 21 washes. They estimate this by saying that if you use just a capful that is enough for your wash. I actually find that I have got a lot more washes out of it than this so that's quite good.

The concentrate works by softening scratchy fibres to help prevent irritation. It says if you don't use fabric softener then fibres on your clothes will go scratchy.

The liquid is a creamy white colour and is fairly thick but not too thick and gloopy. The smell is quite neutral, not overly flowery or with a distinct smell unlike a lot of new fabric softeners out there. It has quite a pure smell to me, almost like Dove soap which I like because that to me also implies that it will be a lot softer and gentler than other fabric softeners with a lot of perfumes and added ingredients.

Comfort Pure is a Unilever product. At the moment Sainsburys are running a promotion on the liquid. A 750ml bottle costs £1 at the moment when it is regularly £1.49. A good product if you have sensitive clothing to wash and one I recommend.

Summary: Comfort Concentrate Pure
