Comfort Pure Fabric Conditioner
Advantages: Smells great, works well, affordable
As I live in a flat, and cannot line dry clothes, I rely on good quality laundry products to ensure that my washing is soft and smells fresh, despite their being dried on a rack in front of the window, or a heated towel rail (and very rarely, the tumble dryer). The problem was, for me, that I am allergic to harsh cleaning products, and have always used non bio washing powder. I needed a fabric softener that is kind to skin, and won't have me breaking out in an itchy rash. So when Comfort launched Comfort Pure, I gave it a try, with excellent results.
I purchase Comfort Pure in 150ml bottles, though it is available in larger quantities (I sometimes purchase the 300ml on offer). It's RRP is £1.99, but can often be found on offer in the supermarkets and occasionally discount shops for £1, and when I see it at that price I stock up with a few.
Comfort Pure looks pure - it's in a clear bottle with a white plastic dispenser lid and white label, with a picture of a baby wrapped up in a white blanket on it. The product inside is white, too, emphasising it's purity. Comfort Pure is creamy in consistency and easy to pour, and has a lovely clean linen rather than perfumed scent. I find that one capful into the washer drawer is more than sufficient to make a full load of laundry - be it jeans, sheets, towels or a general wash - smell clean and pleasant. It is not too strong that it overpowers any scent you wear - so it's suitable for use on my husband's clothes, as I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate smelling of lavender or roses as you get with other fabric conditioners.
In terms of it's effect on the laundry - I certainly notice when I haven't used Comfort Pure. It takes that rack dried 'crispiness' off my wash, and leaves clothes soft and smooth whatever they are made of.
Since starting to use Comfort Pure, I have had a baby daughter, and I am using a half capful of Comfort Pure in the washer drawer on loads which consist of her washing only - baby towels and blankets, sleepsuits and day clothes - and they are left soft, smelling fresh, and have caused no irritation to her delicate skin. I will certainly continue to use Comfort Pure as the no1 fabric softener, as it is affordable, is suitable for all of my (recently extended) family, smells great and most importantly leaves our clothes, sheets and towels snuggly soft.
If, like us, you don't line dry, or you find your laundry, especially jeans and towels, hard and inflexible, and you don't use fabric softener or you are not happy with the one you are using - give Comfort Pure a try, as it's a great product. My laundry room wouldn't be without it and it's a five out of five stars from me for a great product!
