Advantages: Gets creases out of clothes , Helps stop limescale building up in your iron!

Disadvantages: NO CHILDPROOF LOCKING LID!!

Well even though there are only 4 of us left in our household, I still seem to have tons of ironing every week, (my son's girlfriend hardly irons a thing I don't know how she does it!). So as you can imagine I get through irons like these's no tomorrow, especially as I live in a hard water area. So I don't like to put tap water into my iron and when I got my new iron about 18 months ago I promised myself I would only put ironing water into this new one.

It would seem that this has made my iron last longer, but not my money. I always try to use Comfort Vaporesse, which when it first come out it was only in the one fragrance, but like most things these days it is springing up in all different smells that have a mediterrean feel about them.

Now as with most packaging this caught my eye as being different with it's colourful lid and labe (with the dark gloomy day's what's better than a bright colourful bottle to see you through the day!). This particular Comfort Vaporesse has a bright orange plastic lid, which when removed by unscrewing you will see that a pourer has been fitted to the top of the bottle to make it easier for you to pour into your iron ( unlike the Tesco version!).

Now this is where I will have my first gripe as I think that this bottle should be fitted with a childproof locking lid, as it is in quite a colourful bottle and with the liquid looking clear a small child could mistake this for a bottle of pop. It does say on the bottle "Keep away from children".

The bottle is made from clear plastic so the ironing water can easily be seen inside the bottle. This looks just like water. On unscrewing the lid you will get the scent of the water come wafting out, this particular one is made from fresh olive blossom & cotton fragrance. Now this does have a lovely scent to it, very fresh with the smell of the comfort softener coming through as well (sorry I'm not good describing smells!).

Theres no doubt that this does make my washing iron up really well, but is it really any better than tap water I wonder. When it comes to the smell on my clothes I can't say, if I'm really honest that I have noticed it making my clothes or bedding smell nice. I have just gone and smelt some clothes that I ironed yesterday and there just isn't any smell whatsoever. The scent is quite stong when ironing though!.

It maybe that this particular one isn't as strong in smell as the others, as the Blueberry & Jasmine twist has a much stronger smell when opening the bottle.

This product cannot be used with Steam Generator Irons. This comes in a 1 litre bottle and there are several different fragrances to choose from and until today at Tesco this is on special offer of 2 for £1.50 instead of being 95p each.

I hate paying out for this as I get through so much so I do try to buy when on special, I have tried using distilled water, but that doesn't work out any cheaper really!

I'll give this 2 stars not just because the lack of smell on clothes, but mainly because this does not have a childproof lid which I think it really does need!

Summary: Does make ironing easier, but can work out expensive if you do a lot of iroing!

I used to like using Vaporesse products for ironing bedding when I had my iron. I use a steam generator now so sadly my bedding remains without the additonal scent!

I agree with the child-locking thing. Just because it says keep away from children doesn't mean you can keep the children away from it!

I don't iron either - I don't wear blouses, and everything else just de-creases itself when you put it on!
