Advantages: For hands that do dishes...lemon variety has a cleansing aroma

Disadvantages: Shame you need to change your water constantly to maintain any suds

Recently in a bid to show they are trying to help consumers beat the credit crunch, Tesco have begun launching various different low-budget brands on a wide variety of products; specifically trying to out-price Lidyl, Netto and the like whilst making their budget ranges more attractive to the customer than their standard Tesco Value range that frankly never set people's hearts racing with it's packaging. Now I know the packaging is not whats important but it has been scientifically proven that consumers buy with their eyes and if a product looks good, it is more likely to out-sell the less well packaged options. Hence why Daisy has now become one of the fastest selling brands on their shelves of washing-up liquid and fabric conditioner.

Now I like a bargain and, for 67p a litre I think it is, thought I could not go far wrong. However as I have discovered before in the past, sometimes you get what you pay for and, with Daisy, that is a heap of old rubbish! I am not home much because I work as a chef but there is always washing up in the sink as we have a young daughter and, as all parents know, kids = dirty dishes galore. When I have been washing up using Daisy I have found that I need more liquid than normal to produce any suds and that, if you have anything which is slighty greasy, then the bubbles are gone before you know it. Now I know that grease eats into the bubble-factor with any washing up liquid but, after just a few plates washed in Daisy, the water seems to lose it's suds and look extremely dirty far, far quicker than normal. The variety I use the most has tended to be the lemon scent and this has a pleasing aroma that lasts. It is just a shame that the suds are gone faster than snow on a bright sunny day.

Would I buy Daisy again? Probably not! In my honest and frank opinion what you initially save on cost, you then have to spend replacing the washing up liquid you have just used up changing your sink of water several times per washing up session. For quality over quantity, you will never be able to beat Fairy, though Tesco own brands come a close second and there is only a small difference between the cost of own brand and Daisy. Even Asda own brand (and I don't normally like Asda branded goods) is better than this. And that is no soft soap....

Summary: You really DO get what you pay for...

Good review. I believe cheap washing up liquid is a false economy. However some of these value brand items Tesco have are quite good - I was particularly impressed with the bacon.
