Advantages: Cleans effortlessy, smells fresh and cost effective
Disadvantages: Lathers slightly less than well known brands
While conducting my weekly shop in Tesco I browsed upon the washing up liquid aisle. I usually purchase a more basic washing up liquid so long as it is cost effective and lasts a considerable amount of time. I was therefore drawn to Daisy Washing up Liquid, priced at just 85p for a rather large 1 litre bottle.
The bottle itself is rather simple but not unattractive. It is tall and bulky in appearance, transparent with a red nozzle at the top. This bottle is made from recyclable plastic.
The label bears the Discount Brands at Tesco logo suggesting that this is made solely for Tesco. Towards the bottom of the label is the Daisy logo and a pretty daisy motif. The bottle I purchased was lemon in scent.
I was not disappointed upon using this brand for the first time. I have found that with many discounted brands of washing up liquid, the liquid itself is often rather watery in consistency and does not lather as well as its more pricey counterparts. I would not say that Daisy Washing up Liquid lathers as well as Fairy for instance, however it does lather to a sufficient standard.
This washing up liquid removed grease and food debris from my crockery effortlessly. It rinsed away very easily too and left a sparkling clean finish.
The scent of this product is very pleasing. It is not overpowering but it is noticeable. The lemon creates a fresh, clean and rather pleasing aroma.
After using this brand there were no detrimental effects to my skin, though I did as the product states and washed my hands after each use.
I have noticed that in just two days this bottle has depleted somewhat, not to a great extent but slightly more so than I would expect. This leads me to believe that it probably does not go quite as far as a more expensive and well known brand. Either that or we have had a lot of washing up over the last two days. It is however far superior to Tesco's basic washing up liquid which had the consistency of green water.
In summary I do believe that at just 85p for 1 litre, this product is indeed cost effective in comparison to other major brands. I will certainly be purchasing Daisy again when the need arises.
Summary: One which I will no doubt purchase again
