One thing that I am never without is bleach. I'm not brand loyal and will try most brands, I usually just buy whatever is on offer at the time. Recently this has been a basic brand from Tesco called Daisy, I have tried several of the Daisy cleaning products and have been pleased with most of them. The bleach is currently on the Tesco website at 55p for a 750ml bottle however it is often on offer and was when I bought mine.
Daisy bleach is sold in a blue plastic bottle with an angled neck, I assume for under the rim. It has a label around the middle of the bottle which is also blue and has Daisy written across it in big red letters. It also informs the customer that is thick bleach. There is a picture of a daisy on the label too. The back of the label gives some of the ingredients, if you want to see them all the following website will give you all the information you need, www.ukproductinfo.com/daisy. There is also a very long list of directions for use given that are written in very tiny writing but they are there! A large chunk of the label on the back is taken up with warnings, all of them are standard for this type of product and really just common sense. The bottle does advise you not to use the beach with any other products as dangerous gases may be released.
The lid of the bottle is bright red and to open it you need to press down, hold the 2 sides and squeeze the lid whilst unscrewing it. Now I appreciate this is for safety but if you have hand problems such as arthritis this may prove a challenge for you. On the top of the bottle there is a little spout to direct the bleach exactly where you want it.
The actual bleach is the usual pale yellow colour and has the same strong chlorine type smell just like any regular bleach, I personally love the smell of bleach I think its a clean smell. Daisy bleach is sold as a thick bleach and although it is reasonably thick its not as thick as the more expensive brands.
I use this bleach for cleaning my sink, bathroom and for keeping my drains fresh. In the bathroom I use it in a trigger spray bottle slightly watered down, it cleans the sink and bathroom nicely and rinses away easily, it also leaves my bathroom smelling of bleach which I love as its such a clean smell. I always feel I've done a good job on germs when I use bleach. I always use it neat down the loo and down the drain outside, once again it will take care of any germs or smells from the drain. I used to clean all my kitchen surfaces with it too but since getting my youngest cat who is a bit of a climber I had to stop using it because I didn't want her bleaching her paws!
I also use it to clean my washing machine, I run the machine with a cup of bleach in it, no clothes of course, and it rids my machine of any nasty germs that may be lurking in there. I do this about once a month and my machine always smells clean.
Bleach is an excellent cleaning product, it kills germs and leaves things smelling very clean and hygienic. Of course it does have its disadvantages, it can burn if you get it on your skin and if you splash it on your clothes or towels it will take the colour out, but these things aside bleach is a product I wouldn't be without and the Daisy brand is one I would recommend trying. It does all the things that more expensive brands do but costs half the price.
Summary: One I will use again.
