Daisy Thick Original Bleach
Advantages: Cheap, works well, leaves everything fresh and clean
Disadvantages: It stinks
I don't very often use bleach in my house because I believe it is a pretty dangerous product to have alongside other cleaning products however I do like to use it about once a month to give my kitchen and bathroom a deep clean and I also use it to put down my plugholes to keep them nice and fresh.
I have tried some of the Tesco daisy range and found them to be very good products and so when I saw they did their version of a thick bleach I decided I would give it a try as at about 55p a bottle it seemed really great value.
The product comes in a dark blue plastic bottle which holds 750mls of the product. On the top of the bottle there is a red screw top cap which is child proof and underneath this there is a spout to use when pouring the bleach. The bottle is really sturdy and fit for purpose which is very important with bleach, it has a picture of a daisy on the front and the name of the brand and product.
On the rear of the bottle you are given some directions for how to use it, I think this is very important and you must never mix bleach with other products. "Toilets - Pour neat around the toilet bowl every night to kill germs and remove stains, Outside Drains - Pour neat into drains to disinfect and cure unpleasant smells, Sinks - Pour neat down wastepipe and rinse with cold water after 2 to 3 minutes, Work surface and basins - Use a solution 60mls bleach to 5 litres of water and Rinse off after use, Cold Bleaching - Do not pour undiluted bleach straight onto fabric - dilute first. Use a solution of 20mls bleach to 5 litres of water, Soak for 45 minutes and rinse thoroughly, If soaking overnight, use half strength."
Inside the bottle I found the bleach was actually a little thin considering it is entitled "thick bleach" and the smell of the bleach is pretty strong although the smell doesn't last after you have cleaned with it it just smells clean and fresh. The bleach is easy to use and the bottle has an angled neck so squirting under the toilet rim is easy too.
I have found that this bleach leaves my bathroom sparkling and my taps shine wonderfully like no shine you would get from any other cleaning product. Even though the product is quite thin it is still really effective and the fact that it is thin means you don't use as much as long as you control how hard you squeeze the bottle so that not too much product is squirted out at any one time.
I would recommend this product as I find it is really effective, I wear gloves when using it so it doesn't irritate my skin and it gives a really good clean and the price is excellent too.
Summary: A great value bleach
