“ Brand: Daz / Type: Laundry Detergent / Category: Laundry „
Although I tend to use branded laundry detergent as I find generally it gives the best results I am not loyal to a particular brand and instead tend to be price driven. Recently my local Superdrug store has had Daz on special offer so this is what I have been using recently.
Currently 1000ml bottles of the Daz Biological Laundry Liquid which contains enough for 20 washes is on special offer at just £1.99 in my local Superdrug store. This works out at just under 10p per wash so is certainly excellent value for money.
The laundry detergent comes packaged in a bright red plastic bottle with a silver screw top cap which also acts as the measuring device for the detergent. The bottle has a plastic wrap around label which details all the necessary information about the detergent including ingredients listings, directions for use and warnings due to the detergent containing chemicals.
Daz claims to have brilliant whiteness and although I have used it on white washing it is also suitable for use on colours too. The directions for use are really easy to follow as there are diagrams on the back of the bottle. One cap full of detergent equals enough for one load of washing but depending if you live in a soft, medium or hard water area it details how much of the detergent you need to use according to this. I tend to use just the one cap full as the water in my area is fairly soft and this has been doing the job just fine. It also states that the detergent is suitable to use on low temperatures, I tend to wash most clothing on 30 degrees to save a little energy so was pleased to see this.
The detergent itself is blue in colour and quite a thick consistency but is easy to dispense from the bottle and then into the washing machine draw without any drips or spills. The liquid has a lovely fresh fragrance but is not too overpowering. I have used this detergent on all of my washing for a few weeks now and have been really happy with the results even when washing clothing on 30 degrees. It removes marks, leaves my washing smelling great even after it has dried and my whites do seem to still be nice and bright. There has been a couple of occasions where I have had a few stubborn stains where food etc has been spilt on clothing and I have simply rubbed a little of the neat detergent onto the stain before washing and it has disappeared in the wash. Also with this being a liquid detergent it does not leave any residue behind even when used at low temperatures which I find can often happen with many of the powder detergents.
Overall I have been very impressed with this laundry detergent and will certainly continue to use it especially while it is such a bargain price.
Daz liquid is a great product. I always buy it in liquid form as I can pour it into the little plastic measure and pop it straight into the machine. I don't like powders as I think they get clogged up in the machine, causing my skin to be irritated. Liquids are easy to measure, dissolve quickly and are useful for pretreating stains, and handwashing. Daz liquid is good for colours as it does not contain bleaching ingredients, and keeps your whites nice and white.
I used to think more is better when adding laundry liquid, but now I am older and wiser I don't waste it as you really do just need a small amount - it is concentrated after all! At time of writing, some of the supermarkets have good offers on the Daz liquid, so I have stocked up. Asda are currently doing an offer. One 1.81L bottle (32 washes) for £3.98, or 2 for £7. The packaging is easy to find when trawling the supermarket isles - bright red, with a see through strip down the side so you can tell how much is left. Other big brand laundry liquids cause skin irritation and smell too strong. This is not overly perfumed, is great, and I am sticking to it.
A wonderful product - I would be at a complete loss sometimes if it wasn't for Daz Concentrate. Packaged in a bright red plastic bottle with a clear strip down the side so you can see how much is left and a screw top lid. A pleasant smelling concentrated mid blue liquid which does have the POWER to make stains magically disappear from the clothes whilst in their weekly wash. The liquid flows smoothly from the bottle into the dosing ball without too much fuss. Once the dosing ball is placed in amongst the dirty laundry items, in the washing machine drum at even the lowest of the washing temperatures, it cleans clothes beautifully at 30 and 40 degrees and my whites stay white. With up to 32 wash doses in each bottle that's not bad value for money - at £4.68 per bottle - costing less than £0.15 per wash.
I have recently rediscovered Daz washing powder, it's donkeys years old but gives my clothes a wonderful wash and doesn't cause any irritation to my sensitive skin. Over the years I'd forgotten all about it but I am now a dedicated to the brand and there is only one thing better than the washing powder and that's the fantastic concentrated liquid I have started buying.
It comes in a red bottle and immediately stands out as being Daz as it looks like a bottle form of the Daz box, if that makes sense. One bottle is enough for 20 washes, I do approximately one load every two days so I estimate a single bottle will last me at least two weeks which at £2.29 makes it an extremely cost effective way of doing my laundry.
You use a single cap for a full load and it's easy to reduce the amount if you are just doing a half load or single item.
The liquid cleans just as well as the powder, it deals well with grimy clothes and the majority of stains I have thrown at it have been completely removed. It doesn't bubble up so much in the machine but I am still confident it's giving my clothes the best clean possible simply because of the results I have obtained so far. The best thing in my opinion though is the fact that it doesn't leave any gunky residue in the powder drawer and I haven't had to wash my drawer since I began using this, as you probably know even the best powder will eventually lead to a build up of powder but there are no such problems when using this liquid.
I love how fresh and clean my laundry smells after being washed in Daz liquid, especially now the weather is warming up and I am able to dry most of it outdoors. It doesn't have a chemical or harsh smell at all and is simply a clean fresh fragrance. I usually wash at 30 or 40 degrees and even at the lowest temperature my washing comes up spotlessly clean. The only stain it struggles with is the infernal spaghetti sauce from a tin of Heinz spaghetti, but then sometimes neat bleach doesn't remove this so I cannot hold that against Daz at all.
I feel I am singing it's praises here, and I am! It's quite simply an excellent washing detergent which is kind to my skin and does the best job possible. I haven't so much as itched after using this liquid, well I have but it's been down to other influences and I know my skin well enough after 62 years to realise where the problems lie!
I completely recommend it, absolutely. Just yesterday I washed my 22 month old granddaughter's coat, her mum couldn't get it clean using her usual Ariel washing powder because she had gotten into a greasy tomatoey mess with a pizza the day before. Daz cut through the stains easily and she is now wearing her white coat again, although what a silly choice of colour for a toddler coat in the first place!
