An average stack, not the best not the worst

If you have read my recent review on the Scrapbook.com website you will know I am an avid scrapbooker. I love to preserve memories, write down thoughts, keep things that inspire me etc all presented beautifully in my own private scrapbook. It's my little piece of therapy! Scrapbooking isn't viewed as a 'glamourous' past time. In fact I think it's viewed as geeky but I don't care, I am totally in love with scrapbooking and have been for years. I've also spent thousands of pounds in my time of the most beautiful trinkets etc for my scrapbook and take so much pride in it's appearance. It's my indulgence and I have to hide my purchases sometimes as my partner can't understand the money involved with this 'hobby'. DCWV are a very popular scrapbooking brand. DCWV stands for Die Cuts With A View. They are an American based company who produce paper stacks. For those of you who don't know, paper stacks are beautiful collections of themed papers in a 'pad'. DCWV are well known for creating innovative and creative and often unusal themed stacks. This particular stack was called the 'Lady Couture' Stack. It cost me $19.99 as the website I buy my supplies from is American however the approximate price for this stack here in the Uk would be between £18-£25 pounds. The Lady Couture stack features 48 cardstock sheets, which means it's thicker than paper but thinner than card. There are 24 different designs so this works out at two pages of each design. The pad is 12x12 inches so each sheet is quite large and perfect for a full page layout and then creating backing for pictures of words. The theme of this stack is very feminine. It's based on classy women and would be ideally used for Friendship, Women and Fashion layouts. Anything with a girlie theme or centre piece! 24 of the sheets have glossy accents which are mostly very fashionably dressed women or pieces of fashion so this adds a lovely touch to help provide those stand out pieces. The great thing about this stack is that is ulta chic and glam so their is a variety of patterns from animal print to dots, flowers to scences and all women patterns. It's perfect for inspiring you to create something a little different to the usual layouts. As with almost all of DCWV's stacks this one is acid and lingin free so you can use it without worry! It's also easy to remove the sheets as there is a white tab attaching each page so you don't need to worry about wastage and ruining the top of the pattern when you pull it from the pad. This can be very frustrating so it's a great idea! Overall I would give this stack 3 stars for it's very feminine inspired collection of papers. I loved flicking through them but would only say I will use abouot half of the designs as the other half feel a little too 'old' for me. If your an older scrapbooker then this stack is perfect for you! The cardstock is easy to stick and doesn't curl at the corners and is very duarable to layers accents on top. It also absorbs glue really well so you don't get any nasty bulges or bumps! This stack looked better in the pictures than real life which is why it only gets three stars from me. It's lack of bright, vivid colours wasn't what I expected from it and the tones are more artistic than I would have liked but this is just my persona taste. An average paper stack but a bit disappointing for the price!
