With having two small children and a dog regulary trapsing in and out the kitchen through my patio doors my kitchen floor constantly is in the need of cleaning. To be honest it was always one of those jobs I put off and disliked doing as I always seemed to end up with a completely saturated floor and a three year old complaining of wet socks. I alway used a tradional style mop and bucket and even when I had just mopped, it never felt truly clean.

My mum suggested the Dettol Direct Floor Cleaner to me and with my second baby just about to enter the crawling stage, I needed to ensure that the floor was really clean as I was sure within too long she would have her face against it.

I bought the product in my big Tesco's online shop and the price was £2.24 for a litre bottle. The bottle I purchased was the Apple variety and the liquid itself was quite a appley green colour. I'm not sure if it does come in any other varieties as I have only ever bought the apple variety. The bottle itself it quite tall and the perfect width for you be able to squeeze the liquid out with one hand. The stopper at the top of the bottle is also rather handy as you simply pull up to release the valve to let the liquid out and then push down again to close. I found this really useful as all too often I misplace lids for things and they end up back in the cupboard lidless and there lies the potential spillage problems!

It is a direct floor cleaner so using the product couldn't be easier, you do not need to mix it with water, or use a bucket you simply give the floor a good squirt, which is actually quite good fun. Then you mop away and then quite simply your done, as no rinsing is required.

I found the whole process so much easier and quicker using this product, as you are not left with excess water and the floor really does dry in record time. It has stopped mopping the floor from being a real chore for me and now it's something I can do in a few minutes.

The Dettol floor cleaner also has a really clean and fresh smell and as it is anti-bacterial you are safe in the knowledge that the baby can crawl around on the floor without picking up any nasties. It really does leave my floor looking shiney clean and smelling fresh.
