      Fabulous Dettol!

I love to clean. I love to live my life in clean and fresh surroundings. I don't like dirt and don't like thinking that I'm anywhere near germs!

With my ex bf coming to see me this weekend and me staying with a mate living in a house she's giving up so we're clearing it out I started to panic a bit if I'm totally honest lol. We have boxes everywhere and, well...we've been really busy of late and let the place go to rack and ruin. It's ok for us it's only a base and somewhere to sleep and we're never here really but he invited himself for a BBQ so panic...I did and I ran to Asda to stock up on a load of cleaning products and this was one of them!

      The Packaging:

Light purple but transparent plastic bottle that holds 500ml of the product. To the top of it, it has a screw on/off lid and that conceals a large hole. On the front of the bottle I am told that it is Dettol Disinfectant Liquid, Lavender & Orange Oil and that it kills 99.9% of bacteria & viruses and thats it's tested by Doctors to kill bacteria and that therefore it is effective against germs that can cause illnesses and there is a picture of a sprig of lavender on there along with a slice of orange. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and what it's meant to be good for, warnings are listed along with instructions on how to use it, size is stated (As I have told you already) and contact details for the manufacturer are stated and they are Reckitt Benchkiser. Nice enough bottle that is informative as it needs to be of course and I like the way the information given is all very neatly laid out and understandable.

A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Bottle:

Dettol Disinfectant provides expert protection against harmful bacteria and can be used on many surfaces in your home or as an anti-bacterial skin cleanser. Dettol's unique non-bleach formula is proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria on surfaces, including E.Coli, Salmonella, Listeria, MRSA, and the flu virus.

      Where To Use It:

      Drains
      Toilet seats and handles
      Toilet bowls and brushes
      Bins
      Floors
      Work surfaces
      Sinks/taps
      Dish cloths
      Non porus chopping boards
      High chairs
      Potties
      Changing mats
      Laundry
      Hard surface pet areas
      Skin cleansing

      Me Using It:

This is a brilliant all round type of product and I've used it almost all over the house thus far! It's a clear liquid that is highly but naturally fragranced with a smell of orange and lavender. Both me and my mate love the pungent, fresh and clean aroma this gives off and once used that smells holds ever so well for around an hour or a bit more too!

Depending on where you use it you are given different instructions on the bottle. You can use it undiluted and straight from the bottle on things like bins, drains, plug holes, toilet bowls and on toilet seats and handles. For general surface disinfection you need to mix it with water and wipe though no extra wiping down is needed afterwards. You can of course leave dishcloth's and tea-towels to soak say over night with this too to kill a few germs! You can add a capful of this to washing say on baby bedding and dog bedding and the likes and it leaves fabrics smelling absolutely wonderful and without causing any damage at all and you can also use this to on the skin, diluted to cleanse it and to stop it getting infected. It really is something that you pretty much use anywhere and can store it in a kitchen or in a bathroom cabinet!

I used it on work surfaces, I did wash a load of dog bedding and used a little of this in with said wash, I scrubbed the toilet and even added a little of this to a bucket of water to clean floors with to make sure they were well cleaned after a dog did a much uncalled whoopsie on it!

I've wiped down all the door handles in the house, wiped off greasy marks on kitchen tiles and like I say, really it's a question of where haven't I use it more than where I have I!

It's an ungreasy formula, versatile though the only place I haven't used it on is my skin. That's not cos I don't trust it it's just that is smells so pungent but I'm sure I will if I need to in the future! It really is a wonderful product from a trustworthy brand. It makes me feel safe, makes everything smell lovely and I'm sure it's a silent germ killer! I will purchase this time and time again and my mates house is now gleaming and it took minimal effort from yours truly! A brilliant product and much recommended from me!

I paid £2.02 for my bottle in Asda though it is available in all good supermarkets etc.
