Advantages: Great handwash

I have great faith in Dettol as a brand, I just trust that it will clean effectively and banish those nasties germs and bacteria. I regularly use Dettol multi surface cleaner and the floor cleaner and find that I get great results and feel confident and reassured that they produce the level of hygiene that I want for myself and my family.

Last week I was doing my online Tesco grocery shop and I was after some hand soap for my kitchen. I usually just buy the supermarket anti-bacterial variety but every now and then when other premium brands are on offer, I also give them a try.

In this instance I spotted that the Dettol handwash was on offer for £1.00 down from £1.99 for a 250ml bottle. The variety that really appealed to me was Refresh - it clearly stated on the bottle that it would kill 99.9% of bacteria and contained grapefruit extract which would in turn help to eliminate kitchen odours. This appealed to me me and I am regularly cooking with garlic and I really hate being left with sticky garlic fingers.

I decided to give the Dettol soap a try and added it to my online shop. When it arrived , I saw that the soap itself had a orange colour. The soap was packaged in a curved bottle and the soap was dispensed by a pump at the top of the bottle. I used the soap pretty much straight away and was suprised that the soap was a lot thin in it's consistancy than I had expected. I thought that this might mean it would not be terribly effective but I addded some my water to my hands and gave them a good wash. I really liked the smell of the soap, you could definately smell the grapefruit and I pleased that it smelt quite natural rather than an artificial smell.

After, washing and drying my hands, they did feel really clean and smelt really fresh. The soap also did not dry out my hands like other hand washes I had used in the past. I use it several times a day and I am really happy with the product and would definately buy it again, even at the full price.
