Sparkling Waters? What do they smell like then??? (Dettol Neutra Air)

I have to be honest, I first bought this because of the name. I needed air freshener, and I didn't want a cloying flowery fragrance, I wanted something fresh. So I went for the Dettol Neutra Air in "Sparkling Waters" - doesn't that sound just lovely?? I had no idea what to expect, what on earth do sparkling waters smell like anyway? But I had high hopes so I ordered it anyway.

It is normally £2 from Tesco for 300ml, but is on offer at the moment for £1.34. It also says it has 33% extra free, which I know I have on my can at the moment. I think it almost always has that on it...

It says you can use it on surfaces such as fabrics, bins, trainers etc, but to avoid food preparation areas. Although it says it is safe to use it on these surfaces, I have never used it (or any spray freshener) on surfaces as I don't feel the need. Might try this on my outside bin though!

So my main reasons for buying air freshener are to cover any whiffs coming from the cats tray, and also I sometimes get a bit of a pong from my drains.

Dettol Neutra Air comes in a standard spray can, which you have to shake well before using. It has a pop on/off plastic lid, and a spray for pressing to dispense the air freshener.

The air freshener comes out with quite a bit of force, as you would expect from a spray can. It comes out in a light mist, but this soon disperses and you can't see any sign of the air freshener in the air.

The fragrance is not overpowering, and is pleasant. I can't describe it as it does not smell of anything I recognise, but it is very fresh without smelling like pine toilet cleaner or anything like that! I find that the fragrance does not hang around for too long, which I like as I don't want my flat to have an obvious smell of air freshener, just a nice fresh smell!

Dettol Neutra Air does seem to get rid of nasty smells, rather than just covering them like other air fresheners. I've noticed that once the fragrance has faded, so has the nasty smell that I sprayed it to get rid of.

How long this will last depends on how often and how much you spray. I'm on my second can, but as I left the first (unfinished) can behind in my previous flat, I can't say how long it lasts! It was about half full, and I'd had it for about 8 months, so one can should last me over a year. I use it 3-4 times a week, with two reasonable length sprays each time.

I really like this air freshener. It does what it says it will, and it doesn't have an overpowering smell but rather a pleasant fresh one which I don't mind at all. I'd certainly recommend this for getting rid of nasty pongs around the house.
