I have been using ths dishmatique tool for a very long time and it's perhaps the most useful kitchen tool we have. It's ideal for washing up and I think every restaurant should have one for when they wash things by hand. They are available to buy in places such as Tesco and Asda and are basically cleaning brushes with heads that can be replaced.

The heads are like scourers and you have to buy new ones when yours gets too dirty. The brush despenser itself costs around £1.15 to buy and it comes with one head, but you need to buy new heads, which cost around £1.73 for 3. They aren't cheap but one head can last a long time depending on the amount of washing up you do.

The brushes are made of plastic and you can see through them. The black end unscrews so you can put some soap in - I'd recommend fairy liquid washing up soap. You should add a fair amount so it's concentrated but should still top it up with water. Bare in mind when you're washing, the plates will be wet anyway so it's better to be concentrated.

You screw the black cap back on and it's ready to use once you have slid on the new head. You simply wet the head and the plate and start scrubbing with it - as you push the head against the plates or cutlery, it acts like a sponge and soap just comes out. It's really good as the scourer can get dirt off plates, glasses, cups, mugs, pans, trays and cutlery. It can be used for many kitchen items.

The heads consist of a yellow sponge with a green scourer on the outside, which are used to rub the items you're cleaning. It works really well and the soap gives the items a really good clean. I'd highly recommend it as it's very easy to use and makes washing up easy!
