Advantages: Nice little decoration, fairly bright
Disadvantages: Only 15 cm, online it looks alot bigger
My daughter and I were out shopping last week and we saw this little Disney Cars glitter lamp reduced from £3.99 to £1.00 in ASDA. They also had a Toy Story one so I got her that too as she is Toy Story crazy!
We have been trying recently to get as many smallish lights for my daughter's bedroom as she is a little bit scared of the dark. I cannot think why because she wasn't but as she is now, she likes to have light which means her having her little night light on and us leaving the landing light on which isn't great for our electricity as it comes off of our prepayment meter.
The Cars one is really nice but I should say that if you are going to order it online do not think you will be getting a full sized glitter lamp as this is only a mere 15cm high. It is really tiny. It is bright red, like Lightening McQueen with the Cars logo on the base. Lightening McQueen is in the centre of the lamp. When you want to turn the lamp on you just shake the lamp upside down and it will come on and glitter will swirl all around inside it. When the lamp is glowing, it turns three different colours: red, green and blue.
The lamps lasts for about half a minute before it shuts itself down so if you are looking for a further nightlight this is not it. Really it is just good for decoration or as a little torch. The lamp is made of really hard plastic so it is really sturdy and it stands well on a flat surface.
The light is fairly bright when it is on and you can see in the dark with it when you make it come on. It doesn't light up the whole room but it lights up the area it is in. My daughter does use it a fair bit in the night if she loses her soft toys or when she is on her way to our bedroom or the toilet.
I have seen this lamp on Amazon for nearly £7.00 which is just a complete rip off as it is not worth that much money in the slightest but it has been reduced now to £2.95 which is more suitable but I still think the pictures of them are a little deceiving.
I do recommend them as a little torch or as a little addition to a bedroom for decoration but only if you can pick them up cheap. Needless to say, my daughter really likes both of hers.
