This is another special offer from OneStop. 9 rolls plus 3 free of Dixcel Kittensoft luxury bathroom for £2.99. The only colour on offer was white so there was no choice. Dixcel Kittensoft is described as irresistibly soft and quilted with a new type of luxurious tissue that comprises of two layers. The first outside layer is soft and made of super soft fibres delicately cushioned so each layer is soft and gentle on the skin. The second inside layer is not just soft but has unique fibres making it strong. All this is intended to make the tissue soft and strong for a more comfortable and reassuring feel. The pack of Dixcel Kittensoft I bought were called soft white and contained 12 rolls of 2 ply rolls with an average of 260 sheets per roll. (124 x 100mm total area 42.56m²) I was pleased with my bargain toilet roll but I wanted to put it to the test to find out if it was as good as it stated. The first test was could the roll easily be started once on the toilet roll holder. This varied from roll to roll. If there was a big overlap of paper before the end of paper was stuck to the roll then it was easy to start the roll. If there was not much overlap then when I tried to start the roll I ended up with little bits of toilet tissue that were not big enough to do anything with. The result was most of the rolls I tried failed this test. The second test was how soft the paper was. This is very important, as toilet tissue is used not just for wiping the obvious areas, of which I won’t go into detail. It is also used in our house for blowing noses and in the case of my 3-year-old daughter this is quite frequently, when she is having a bath and also for wiping her face quickly when I have not had time to grab the baby wipes. Kittensoft passed this test easily, as it is quilted and I found it soft and gentle to touch even for my daughter’s soft skin. The third test was thickness. I d
id not find Kittensoft to be very thick compared to some other toilet tissues. However, it was thick enough for the purpose it is intended for, by this I mean I did not find that it ripped or my fingers made holes in it when I used it. Again I will not go into too much detail here. What I did notice however was that the 2-ply sheets separated on the roll, this is irritating as the two layers do not always line up again properly and one layer hangs below the other on the roll. You then end up trying to get the two layers back together. I will give this a pass as it was thick enough and the fact that the two layers separated might not annoy everyone. For the price of £2.99 it is well worth it and I would certainly buy this brand again. I know that toilet roll is used for one main purpose, but I want the tissue I use to be soft and thick enough to do the job. I will never forget the tracing paper we were all expected to you when we were at school so I suppose I could have a phobia now we it comes to toilet roll.
