Advantages: Kills Germs, Looks Pretty,

Disadvantages: The bleach isn't pink :-(

Now I know what you're thinking.........PINK???? but yes that's what colour my bottle of bleach is. (get your minds out of the gutter please)

This bottle of Domestos bleach is 750ml, it's a lovely girly cerise pink colour, and has a red screw cap which of course is meant to be child-resistant, but like most of these caps my 7 year old has no problems opening them! So keep it out of reach of children to be safe! The cap is opened by gently squeezing the side of the cap and turning at same time.

Now the blurb on the front of the bottle tells me it is the "Thickest Ever" and it says "Pink Power Bleach" and it " Kills All Known Germs" Ooooh I say Pink bleach i'll have some of that....it'll look good down the loo!

How disappointed I am when I squirt it under the rim of my loo and it's the usual clear thick liquid :-(

But that's the only real problem I have with this bleach as it does work in disinfecting the toilet, I also use it for a variety of other jobs around the house.

Here's a few tips for using bleach......
Use neat to -
1 - Squirt under your toilet rim and leave overnight. This works great for disinfecting and for cleaning too.
2 - pour a few drops down your drains and sinks, this will disinfect and also help get rid of nasty pongs.

Diluted -
1 - 60ml per 5 litres water to clean work surfaces and floor surfaces. If using on work surfaces I usually give a little rinse with a clean wet cloth afterwards.
2 - Leave your dishcloth's soaking in a bucket overnight half filled with water and add 30ml of Domestos. This will remove any germs on your cloths.
3 - Occasionally if I have a laundry accident....leaving that white top in the washing machine and then do a colour wash....arghhhh, Simply fill a bucket with 5 litres of cold water and add 15ml of Domestos, and leave overnight.....hopefully the colour stain will be gone. I usually then wash as normal in the washing machine after the bleaching.

To measure the Domestos you use the red cap.....each cap is 15ml so this makes it a lot easier to get the right measurements.

I have found this fantastic website which features the new advertising campaign by Domestos it's worth a look if for nothing else than entertainment, but it also tells you a lot about the different bacterias and virus' that Domestos kills. There are also some great little tips for using the bleach.....ie did you know that by adding a tiny drop of bleach to your vase of freshly cut flowers they can last longer?

As with all bleaches there are plenty of precautions and warnings on the bottle, including
1 - Do not transfer into any other bottle or container.
2 - Do not use neat on floors.
3 - Take care not to spill on carpets, clothes etc.
and so on.......

Now we all know (or should know) that bleach is an irritant so care should be taken when using it.
If you do get it on your skin, wash immediately,
If you get it in your eyes rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
If swallowed seek medical advice immediately and show label to medical staff (it may sound like daft advice but I know someone who did drink some of this by accident because it had been poured into a lemonade bottle!)

Anyway to sum this review up, I use Domestos over any other bleach because i feel it works quicker than any other, and it's also a lot thicker than cheaper brands, so somehow i feel this make a difference, especially when poured under the toilet rim, as it tends to stay to the rim longer and not just run down the sides like water.

Domestos is usually available in all supermarkets and probably most corner shops etc stock it too. I got mine from Tesco for only 75p. Similar prices across the board really.

Thanks for reading
