This is the new brand of domestos toilet cleaner that has been advertised lately, and in my ever search for a complete loo cleaner i went to the supermarket and was finally tempted by the domestos 5x toilet bleach, and also toilet duck (please see other review). This cleaner has been advertised constantly on the tele lately and temptation finally gave in!
Anyhow, this is quite a relatively new product and is a bleach specially designed for use in the loo for killing germs, etc, which is all good by me! It is 750ml in content, and grey in colour and cost £1.48.

What does it do?
On the bottle it states 'Domestos 5x Longer Lasting Toilet Bleach with C-TAC Sticks around to kill germs 5x longer.
Germs breed and multiply every time the toilet is used. Domestos 5x has a revolutionary new formulation with C-TAC - it kills germs on contact and sticks around to keep on killing germs 5x longer than any other bleach'. Sounds good, though no mention of limescale removal or fresh smell, etc.

How does it perfom?
Well the product describes usage as 'Squirt under toilet rim and leave overnight. Apply Daily'. Strange i thought a cleaner claiming to kill germs for 5x longer would not need applying daily. Anyhow, i squirt the bleach under the rim of my loo and the usual yellowy thick domestos liquid squirts out as i squirt it round the bowl. I then leave for half an hour so and return to see the results. I flush the loo and the loo is gleaming clean though a harsh smell of bleach is left lingering in the loo which i hate! But apart from that i can't complain with the results since my loo is now sparkling clean (limescale removed too) and germ free.

Testing strip
This is one of the reasons i picked up this product, just to see how this strip worked. Anyhow, you get provided with a pink strip in a box attached to the lid. Apparently the strip leaves a pink mark in the loo bowl to prove the bleach is hanging around to kill germs for 5x time. This unfortunately involves having to have contact with the loo bowl to stick the strip to the bowl before flushing. This did leave a pink mark on the loo thus proving its germ killing power.

Overall
This is a quality product, though i wouldn't worry too much about the test strip as its not worth putting your hand in the loo! Now to try toilet duck in the downstairs loo!
