Domestos review on thick bleach.

The Domestos trade name is actually a Unilever product, and if you require any information about Domestos, it will either be on the website, or you can ask them a question by using a link. http://www.domestos.co.uk/
There is a lot on the website, including cleaning tips, a Gallery of Grim Tales, and even a wallpaper you can download! You will also see the "Kids Zone" where you kids can identify the "Hygene Hotspots" in your home, a very good idea.

The company also have a Freephone customer care line:-
0800 77 66 45
Alternatively you could send them an e-mail to this address:

Domestos was first sold in the UK in 1929, In those days there was only one type of Domestos and it was sold by a man on a tricycle called Wilf Handley. He had a stoneware jar mounted on the front of his "Rusty Steed", and went from door to door selling Domestos to his customers. These days, Domestos thick bleach comes in a range of smells and bottles designed for your convenience. In the 1960's, bottles were changed from Stoneware to Glass.

The modern bottles now incorporate a Safety top, although obviously you keep away from kids anyway. These tops are a little annoying, and not that easy to open, and of course it is better to keep the stuff away from kids in the first place.

The Bottles can be recycled, as can most plastic, but how many of us actually do this?

Just over a Pound for the small 750ml bottles, 2 litre bottles take up a lot of room but are only £2 or less.

Kills all known germs - DEAD - Hmmm, they company no longer advertise with this slogan, although if you check the website, you will find what the bleach actually does kill, and the list is impressive.

Domestos is what you could call a "Household name," it must have been used in every household at some time, I can recommend it without question. It is one of those products which is so versatile, I don't see how you can do without it. The only possible alternative is to go for a cheaper bleach, which is basically a thinner version of Domestos, so you will use more, making it not as cost-effective as you first thought.

Many years ago, I have a Vauxhall viva, with a windscreen washer bottle that leaked, yes, you guessed, I replaced it with a sturdy blue plastic Domestos one! This "Upgrade" was bigger and better than the one originally fitted, and was still there in perfect condition many years later, when I spotted it in a scrapyard!

Ingredients are, mainly Sodium Hypochlorite, but Domestos thick bleach also contains non-iconic surfactants, soap, perfume and limonene.

There is nothing to fear from Domestos, but please read the instructions on the bottle, and of course, keep away from kids.

Summary: ery good bleach.
