My wife and I have very different styles of washing up in the kitchen. I have worked in catering loads, so my style tends to be quite anal when it comes to actually putting things to wash in the first place. I scrape plates and stack things neatly. My wife just puts things near the sink, even if there's food on them. Sometimes, and here's where we're both guilty, food gets down into the sink, and although we have one of those filter things that only let the water through and not the food, it gets clogged up, and getting the food out seems more of a hassle than just letting some of it drain through down into the depths of our sink. I use one of those hair trap thingy's in the bath, you know, the little strainer type thing that sits over your plughole to stop all the hair going down and blocking the drains. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work completely as I still find myself pulling hair from the plughole, and lately I noticed that the water was very slow to drain out of the bath, so decided to try something to stop it. Like any product of this type, price was the deciding factor for me. This was on special offer when I bought it, making it £1 less than any other brands available, and quite frankly when it comes to cleaning and that sort of thing, I'd rather save my pennies. After smelling a couple of whiffy smells coming up from my sink, I decided to try one of the sink and drain unblockers. But they were all priced around £4-5, and to be quite honest I'd rather put up with a whiff than pay those rip off prices. Fortunately this week Tesco had Domestos Sink and Drain Unblocker on special offer this week and it was half price. The product is basically a thick liquid that expands in the pipes and cleans them as it goes. You have to pour the entire bottle down the plug hole in one go.
