Advantages: Takes away limescale and you cut down on your washing powder

Disadvantages: I wish it was in tablet form

I first started using soda crystals 4 years ago because my neighbour who is 87 swears by them, apparently his washing machine broke down one day about 10 years ago and the washing machine engineer told him to use two spoonfulls in every wash as it takes away limescale. His machine hasn't broke since. I started using them in all my washes as well and it is a lot cheaper than the limescale tablets that you buy.
It costs under a £1 and lasts at least a couple of months and i do lots of washes.
In addition to taking away the limescale, it also means you need to use less washing powder as it also cleans, and your whites come out very nice. Having said that, i also use it with my coloured washes and it hasn't faded the colours.
I would recommend it to everyone including my mother.

Summary: Costs under a £1 and last for months
